Cheryl , Denise and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and helpful during our stay at the campground, nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were spotless and the grounds well kept. It's a must place to visit, just a few minutes walk and you are on the beautiful Muriwai beach. Will see you all again on our next trip. Karen and Dave. UK

First night in NZ and got to stay at this really nice campsite with powered sites. The staff were so friendly and nice at check in. The facilities were clean, well lit and nice. Close to the beach, the gannet colony and a cafe - all within walking distance. Easy drive from Auckland to get here.

Easy to find the campground, was greeted by the friendly receptionist who had great customer service. Amazing facilities, clean toilets and bathrooms/showers and kitchen. Kitchen has 2 toasters, 2 microwaves, 1 mini oven (size of microwave) good for like pizzas / pies hot chips etc, and 5 stove top cooks . Kitchen had about 6 fridges lots of room for frozen foods, bbq grills were nice and clean also so easy to use just remember to bring bbq utensils. Inside they have an Instant boiling water tank also good for hot drinks. Outdoors was very spacious which was great to accommodate for lots of families. Would definitely come back again.

Definitely one of the best, if not that, parks we have stayed at. The ablutions are immaculate. The kitchen is huge and spotless. The sites have a great view of the surf beach but there are ones at the back in the bush if you feel like a different vibe. Cannot wait to go back.

Fantastic campground with lovely owners! Bathrooms and kitchen all sparkling clean and modern. Showers are awesome! Beach just a minute walk away. Lots of space to camp and hang out. Definitely coming back!

The campsite looks very new and it very clean and well maintained. They have all the facilities the usual NZ campsite has and more (they have a laundry area). There are also a couple of cafes nearby. There are a few trees around the camp area which did a good job to give us shade under the sweltering heat of the sun (we went there summertime). The beach is also very close to the campsite. There's a cave at one end of the beach but I reckon it would be dangerous to go in because it sits on top of the water and the waves tend to crash the rocks on the shore. It was a very beautiful experience for me and my friends.

Beautiful location and a great escape from Auckland for the weekend. We are staying in a cabin which is similar to glamping.Have been watching the sunset and the sunrise from the cabin deck. You can hear the ocean all night/day and it's just a short walk to Muriwai beach.

Very safe campground, kept absolutely clean and tidy. Just next to Muriwai black sand beach, good place to surf or even a stroll early in the morning. Close attraction -watching the Gannet is just 5 mins up the hill. We hire a tent, there are only 2 of these. We were given led lights. Very sturdy, great experience for the children. Definitely a five stars for this campground

Reviewed previously, still great. Excellent modern facilities friendly staff. Can view the sea from some sites, short walk - basically exit the Campsite and walk across dunes. Only a cafe nearby, so you need to pack in food. Gate closes at 8pm - camp is part of reserve.
