We had a motor home but could use all facilities. We took our breakfast over to the kitchen and we're shocked that a group of jet boaters had had a party and had not cleaned up at all. Disgusting! Not the managers fault but shocking behavior from guests.

Not a nice place to stay longer then you have to. Rooms like a military base you don’t feel welcome ore cosy at all. But clean and tidy like a military base as well. For my understand way to expensive there nicer backpackers for less money.

It's an alright powered site. Would have preferred a little bit more room considering it's a little expensive but prices are on par with other places in the area. For some reason they put everyone on one side and left the other side empty so we were packed in together. Otherwise no complaints. Dump station on site and a nice big communal kitchen and living area.

I picked this place because the common room has a fireplace. They advertise it as a feature yet wouldn't light it. We stayed here four nights and got out our sleeping bags to relax in the lounge. The tent sites are not flat and we ended up being flooded while there. The facilities are very clean.

Common area and kitchen was spacious and everything was spotless. We stayed at a tent and the site was very flat, level and soft. Good location close to the shop.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!Tidy adequate twin room for $80. The communal kitchen/dinner and lounge space is vast and well equipped.Would highly recommend to other travellers.

Last minute decision to camp here late as weather turned- very accommodating! Hot showers, nice shared kitchen facility and common area. Fridges and freezer space. Van spots have water and picnic table next to them.

Haast Lodge Backpackers & Motor Park
We stayed in the Backpackers for 3 days and had one night camping. The lodge has a very nice communal kitchen and living room. The room was spotlessly clean and had lovely crisp white sheets. The staff were very accommodating and let us store our bicycles in a shed so we could go off on a hiking trip. I would definitely recommend Haast Lodge and Backpackers as a place to stay.

We found this a little pricey for a powered site, but I guess considering the lack of accommodation in the area, you don't have much choice. Facilities looked clean enough and it was quiet. We stayed one night.

Haast Lodge Backpackers & Motor Park
Tent sites flood when it rains. They wouldn’t turn the fire on which was disappointing because it’s why we picked that park. Facilities were very clean, and they did provide towels which was a nice touch.
