Sunday night. Busy day with sport and work. Start to cook dinner and every turns to custard. What to eat then? Let’s do takeout. Usual options weren’t satisfactory. We (me, wife and two teen boys) go through the meals/costs. Long story short we settle for kebab. Place an order online in 5 min, and it says order will be ready in 10. I drive down. I step foot inside and “every staffer ” “one by one” turn around and say good evening to me. I get my bag, pay say thank you. Then everyone again says good night on my way out. I got home and the kebabs are the best I ever had. Go try it for yourself. True genuine hospitality, great value for money and great taste. Thanks guys you rock. We will be back …. Regularly

Superb food, fresh, healthy and very well priced.The food is delicious and comes out very quickly.This is my go to Turkish restaurant in the BOP.Easy parking too

The only place I get my Turkish from as their food is sooo good but the owners and stuff are friendly and it's a family run establishment. Went in for my usual meat on chips with salad meal, and dined in as it was my birthday dinner. Was a struggle to get through the huge meal but managed to cram it all in. Their salads are so fresh all the time.

Best Turkish place in Tauranga!You really get what you pay for here, fresh and consistent food every single time, portion sizes are generous, and the flavour is to die for.Staff members are friendly and so helpful!I will forever recommend this place to anyone looking for quality (borderline life-changing) Turkish food.

Came here while on a trip and it was excellent. I looked briefly at their Google reviews (which is how I choose a lot of restaurants) and decided to give it a go. I got a mixed kebab and a side of fries. The mixed kebab was amazing - fresh and just delicious. The fries too (though the kebab was pretty filling, I definitely didn't need them after all). I ordered takeaway and didn't have to wait long at all. 100% recommend.

Once you get in you'll feel a sense of being at home, greeted by friendly staff. The food is great-tasting and served generously. Oh and the pizza.. must have!

Great service and friendly staff but the food was average to say the least. Meat was low grade, very oily and was not particularly fresh. Left a bad taste in the mouth for over an hour and uncomfortable digestion for all of us. Fresh turkish bread and moist falafel would be a welcome start. Lift your game please, you have potential.

We enjoyed Cafe Istanbul's hospitality. The food was great. I had Chicken Satay pizza and my wife had iskeender. The place is very clean and the service was great and friendly.
