Excellent cabinet selection, great mix of savoury and sweet. Very tasty pastries and donuts, and well-baked pies. Flat White always tastes great. Efficient and experienced staff. Even if I didn't live nearby I would treat this as my local.

Best pie ever! Grew up with this little gem.Their pie crust is flaky on the top and buttery on the bottom, not dry at all. The steak and cheese and mince and cheese pies are filled with generous amount of meat and gravy.Also fav items are their donuts - plain cream donuts, apple cream donuts and coffee cream donuts.Lots of variety of bake goods to choose from, a couple of tables and chairs outside for seating.

Love their carrot cake slices, better than anything I could make at home! EDIT: The bakery responded to this review and stayed true to their promise of allowing me a free piece for my troubles (after recently receiving a piece that was inconsistent with their usual portion sizes).

The best bakery on the coast hands down! Smoked fish pies and iced cream buns are to die for!! Get there early for those! Lots of fresh food quality assured!! 5 stars!!!

It's OK, not my go to bakery, but it's a good back up if my other 2 locals in the red beach/Silverdale/orewa area are out of my favorites, on hbc I'd say it's 4th or 5th best. Bit more expensive also. Pies are 50c more than other hbc bakeries. They do make good doughnuts though. All in all it's nice.

The only thing fresh about the apple cream finger donuts my wife bought from you at approx 3.15pm today was the cream. The actual donuts were stale?
