Slalom Lodge.

Went there for an evening meal recently. Why 1 star? I'll try and keep this objective and unemotive review but that will be hard as this was very much a surreal experience. I ordered a Scotch Fillet steak, I received a rump steak and it was poorly prepared and small to be frank. We all have our bad days but I'm paying $30 for the wrong steak! No one greeted our group at the door or even offered a menu. It was very much find your own way. Very weird. The ambiance was non-existent other than the fire going, play some music maybe. The rest of the food ordered by our group appeared to be reheated frozen food and please, change the oil in your deep fryer thanks! The person serving drinks didn't know what a Rose wine was (it's the pink coloured one, you had none btw). Then there was the slight issue of forgetting one of our parties’ allergies. That could have ended a lot worse for everyone. I’d be surprised if this place is running inside a year from now or maybe something else is paying the bills. One of the worst dinning experiences I can remember. Best advice, drive another 2 mins to National Park and dine there.

Great value for money! Place is a little run down but the new owner has themselves a good project. You can see things taking shape. Still a lot of work needs to be done. Onwers are friendly. :)

This is an excellent place to stay if your planning on riding through the 42nd traverse. The host is very friendly and welcoming! The bed was probably the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on. The shower is incredible too! Breakfast in the morning was provided and a very welcomed start to the days riding!

Great place to relax, and have a hearty meal and drink. Warm and welcoming

Great hospitality from Learna, clean rooms, comfier bed,played few games of pool, enjoyed reading book on veranda, and well behaved friendly cat and dogs, great valuefor money will be back, and do recommend Slalom. Thankyou Learna

+ nice host+ low price+ close to National Park (but you need to have a car)+ wifi- old carpet everywhere (we are allergic and had bad reactions)- bad smell in the rooms (everything (clothing) smelled like it afterwards)- stains on the bedding- just one power socket in the whole room (double)

Please, don’t go at this place. It’s a cheap option but rooms smelled mould and old. I booked 2 night because I read good reviews about this place, but not, absolutely not. I didn’t stay in this place for more than 10 minutes and I booked another hostel. I lost my money, but I don’t care because I prefer my own safe and healthy. Toilets were clean at least. Bed didn’t have enough linen (just bottom sheet) and one blanket. The heater weren’t appropriate for the room. The night was really freezing.

Amazing genuine historic venue! Had a great burger! The owner was lovely! I'll definitely be back! Highly recommend!
