Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple Christchurch

This peaceful cafe is in the heart of the Buddhist Temple on Riccarton road.It’s a hidden treasure. It’s Vegetarian and mostly Gluten Free.Although I’m not vegetarian, the food is delicious and presented to a high standard. I try a new dish on each visit and have enjoyed each one.This visit we had a Fried Noodle Dish, Pan Seared Dumplings and Polenta Fries for lunch - all delicious.They have tea, coffee and slices, great for a catch up with friends or meeting with colleagues. They have outside seating and inside housed by the impressive temple facade and floor to ceiling windows.Theres also an art gallery and mediation suite there as well to explore.

Lovely, beautiful place, so pleased we found this. Had a delightful lunch and look around the gallery and temple. Welcomed and interacted with amazing people. Quiet, relaxed and serene environment. Will be back

We love this place, very peaceful and beautiful set up. The vegetarian cafe offers hearty and healthy food too with nice ambience. We will be back to try other dishes :)

A quiet serene meditative place to visit .Mae at the counter was very very helpful and she took us around and it was definitely so heart warming to be with her. The cafe had great interesting options of vegetarian food and I had the laksa . The coffee is awesome too.

I stumbled upon this temple and it's café by mistake. A failed mission into town led me to walk past and see a sign for an embroidery exhibition. The exhibit was awesome. The staff was awesome, leading me around and showing me their favourite art works. Then, the café was a gem. Something as simple as a ginger and lemon drink was made to perfection - my partner got the chai latte. As a chai latte fan myself I have to say it might be the best I've had in town - not overly sweet, naturally balanced (not out of a packet). I can't wait to go back for some food soon. Highly recommend!

Great building/ complex with lovely serene water garden & water features fountains etc.Wonderfully welcoming with good exhibits /art.

These exquisite embroidered pictures are a must see. The gardens surrounded by decking are very calming and restful. A really pleasant morning's outing.

The Chocolatte Food festival at the temple was a celebration of Food. The atmosphere was pleasant and calm. Many helpers to explain what was happening, Food from many cultures, music groups playing.The building is fascinating architecturally. Exhibitions are interesting. The Cafe has a wide range of vegetarian food and a lovely atmosphere.

The vegetarian cafe is very good. Lot of options for food. Food is good but portion is a little small. I invited my friends there and they like it. You could find some peaceful moment there. Location is good.
