Ripper dipper meal! We had the mussels, and would you believe, they cooked the. in a thai green curry! Un-be-liev-able!Great service with some witty replies. 10/10

The service was lovely & we enjoyed the mussels in white wine sauce- which was generous and delicious. Unfortunately the crayfish was incredibly disappointing. We ordered a half size for $79 and we barely got two mouthfuls each and the texture was floury/not fresh. We thought perhaps it wasn’t the season for crays and we weren’t going to get to experience delicious crayfish in Kaikoura. However we ended up getting a half cray the next day from the Kaikoura seafood bbq kiosk which was more than double the size fresh and succulent- for $48 so not sure why the quality was so bad at The Craypot.

Wow. Just a fabulous meal.Great fish and chips and my wife’s eggplant and zucchini lasagna was really tasty. My salad with the fish and chips was just awesome. One of the best meals on our road trip around the South Island.

Brilliant customer service but quite small meals, my partner ordered smoked fish smoked salmon mussels and toasted bread and was give 3 tiny pate looking bowls which would of been a brilliant entree but definitely not a main, lovely staff but the size is definitely making us not go back sorry

Here for a long weekend in Kaikoura, last minute decision to go out for tea, the Craypot Kitchen & Bar were welcoming on our arrival, very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere, the Cobb Loaf was a great starter and both the Baked Fish of the Day and the Smoked Salmon were delicious, highly recommend and would definitely return, thanks :) Grant & Debbie from Nelson

Fantastic! We thought we might be too late to be accommodated, as their last booking was at 7.30pm on a Monday, but they let us in at 7.45. My boyfriend had the half crayfish with chips and salad (85 NZD) and I had the fish of the day (monkfish) in an almond crumb with a white wine butter sauce with mash and veg (34 NZD). Or you could have fish, beer-battered chips and salad for 32 NZD. Fish of the day was so tasty and fresh! Then for dessert (15NZD) my boyfriend had chocolate brownies and berries and I had the coconut and citrus Panna cotta. Perfect! Friendly quick service too, despite it being full until closing time when we were there.Try it, you won't be disappointed!

The seafood dips/ pate were super delicious. However, the service was poor from the moment I walked in the door the man at the counter turnedto look at me & turned back to talk to the female through the serverie. I stood at the counter expecting the man to turn around and serve me. Nope! I asked,, Do you want my custom?" No comment and no apology. How disappointing. I wont be going there again."

This place is amazing! Our group absolutely loved the ambiance and the service was delightful. We started with the garlic bread and after each of us took a bite knew the meal to come would blow us away simply because of how delicious the appetizer was (the flaky sea salt was such a perfect touch). The tiramisu is the best" our group had ever had. Hands down. We couldn't recommend this place enough and wish all the best to the owner John!"

Stopped in for lunch (a very late lunch at 2.30pm...) on our way home. Great wedges and lasagna. Friendly staff more than happy to accommodate. Thanks!
