Clean/tidy surroundings and pleasant staff earn a Star each but that's about the limit.Despite wearing hearing aids, the background thumping music, made it all but impossible to hear.And then there was the food.Four at our table ordered the Premium Steaks with salad. Only 3 arrived. These were close to cold and tough [My garlic butter never melted at all]. The fourth plate never arrived and there was no apology although there was a free glass of wine.The fourth diner eventually got an entirely different meal, but only after everyone else had almost finished. The kitchen had by then, run out of salad.The desserts were okay but I wouldn't rush out and shout that they were great. Cudos that they were a good size but serving the Warm Apple Pie on a plate with a large chunk of china missing off the edge, is not going to earn a third star.Would we eat there again?Probably not.

Pork ribs are delicious!!.Also, we had stone grilled steak. Meat is very juicy. Highly recommend!!

Despite being a California girl, I pride myself on my BBQ palate. I've had Memphis ribs on Beale Street, lived in North Carolina (not a fan of the vinegar tinged pulled pork), and grew up with tri-tip cooked over oak most weekends.BBQ is one of my favourite cuisines.When I moved to Whangarei my Hubby told me of an American BBQ Restaurant" that had him hopeful given my love of ribs.If you are American

We ordered number of mixed items off the menu. received 2 items soon after our placed order. Then discovered on payment we're change extra of those 2 items which none of us ordered. Meals ware good but we didn't want to spoil our evening by challenging the extra costs.

It was raining cats and dogs when we ran inside Jimmy Jack’s, cold, wet, and hungry. The warmth of the welcome and the atmosphere in this attractive place were a nice shelter from the storm.The beer selection was quite good, and the menu had lots of things that were appealing. We settled on the Stonegrilled Chicken breast, served with fries and Cole slaw, and it was scrumptious! We couldn’t resist getting the Decadent Peanut Butter Skillet Cookie, served piping hot with ice cream, and we loved it!It was mid-afternoon and pretty quiet due to the time and the rain, but my bet is that this place is pretty popular under better conditions. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would be here often if we lived here.

If you like eating paper id suggest eating here. The chef said “the paper is safe to eat”, not only did it smell in the venue upon arriving. The crab dip was served cold and after reheating it was still cold. The rib was stuck to the paper. The staff member said “we usually have to peel the paper off but thats just a personal preference”. The staff member used a condescending tone and was being subliminal after we complained. Not impressed. It took a long time for them to make a chocolate milkshake that ended up tasting like toothpaste. They remade it an it still tasted like toothpaste. I will not be returning to this restaurant, high prices for low quality meals. Not worth it

The missus and I ordered the rib shack platter and loved it. Especially the in-house made crab dip. It's my second time eating there and enjoyed it just as much as the first so I can kinda say that they're consistent based on my 2 visits. Very fair pricing as well compared to others and I really wish they had a Jimmy Jack's in Auckland.

Repetitive experiences now of slow service, and overpriced, poorly presented food. The wings and ribs are always tough and burgers leave alot to be desired. The steak options are the best choice on the menu but not cheap. Tried the beef nachos for a change, came out cold, pretty tasteless and I've never been served such a small portion size of nachos before. At least they have Craft Beer, so that's a plus!
