Excellent presentation of the journey of the Edwin food from East India company merchantman to convict ship, troop carrier, emigration vessel, refrigerator vessel and finally coal storage bunker. Kudos to the society and all their work to preserve this historic 170 year old vessel.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Edwin Fox. The small museum is well laid out and very informative, going through the entire history of the ship. The 40-ish minute film is interesting and great watching, however I think it should be in a separate room to the exhibits as it can be distracting. Having the opportunity to walk on the actual ship at the end is fantastic and unique. Worth the $10 discounted Bookme entry fee (book in advance) to experience and learn about an amazing piece of history. I spent around 2 hours there.

We stumbled upon this very unassuming historical artefact. Thank goodness we did. The Edwin Fox is steeped in history. The museum upstairs was very interesting with a good documentary video. Then downstairs and into the dry dock. An instant journey back in time. Unrestored in the main, but all intact. You could feel history just embracing you.If you only have half an hour I can recommend a visit. For me this was a real gem. A piece of living history, unrestored, which made it even more ‘real’.Thank you to all those Pictonians involved in this. The best investment of a shilling I can think of.

A very nice local museum with lots of artifacts to see and fascinating historical details to learn, but what really set my experience above and beyond were my interactions with the staff. The person at the desk was happy to answer my questions, and when I had a few that they didn't know the answer to, they offered to take my email and get back to me when they found an answer, which they eventually did! This enthusiasm for my enthusiasm made my already-enjoyable visit stand out so much more.

Extremely large and interesting collection of facts and figures and history of the Edwin Fox. I usually don't get excited by such things but it's a very well laid out exhibit and afterwards you can walk around the actual boat.Highly recommend that you give it a go and allow an hour or two.

I love the feeling of literally being in touch with history. Being able to walk on board after reading all about the ships' history was amazing.

Really loved this museum. A must if in Picton. The history of the ship is fascinating and seeing the size of it when walking through is incredible. Lovely staff and very central location. My highest recommendation for the town.
