For the price, it is the go-to hotel for newcomers in Welly. Can't expect much from the facilities or rooms (it is not a hotel) but it does have all the things you practically need. Lots of friends to make on the 2nd floor which is why the stay will be more pleasant.

Avoid. The General Manager is rude and obnoxious and the only activity he appears to engage in is serving notice to long term tenants for no reason. He has been in the news for illegally letting out a now -demolished commercial building to a family as rental accommodation. He gave me notice after I reported an assault on one of my visitors by a fellow tenant. I must say apart from him, the rest of the staff are helpful. This place has a bad reputation thanks to the General Manager and has been taken off the MSD/WINZ emergency housing list. The building has large cracks in the wall and I will wouldn't like to be there in an earthquake. Some of the old fire escapes are blocked off. I liked some of the other tenants but there is usually a bad element present too. AVOID.

Very good location and excellent staff, very attentive, and at all times willing to help. Very clean rooms and common spaces.Hotel and rooms in general very old and with lack of maintenance. (mainly windows and curtains)For the value paid in a double room with private bathroom, it could include a small refrigerator and at least one TV.Very dirty kitchen, and full refrigerators for common use, but that is not a problem of the hotel but of some guests who do not know how to live together.

Staff there are nice for the most part, rooms are very mediocre so don't expect much. The building is very old and is in desperate need for a revamp but accomodation is cheap for the nice location it's in. Only few minutes walk to cuba, lambton, the waterfront and what not. Did have one incident with my room and although having to ask a few times for help it was resolved pretty fairly in the end.

Its okay, The downside of this place is the rooms and beds could do with an up-grade. Could do without the maze affect when your a first timer looking for the laundry or kitchen. The kitchen needs to be re-assessed for cooking availability not enough bench-top cookers for the amount of people who cook at the same time. The 3rd floor balcony for smokers should have closed off ashtrays like the one at the main entrance and the tables bolted into place. There Emergency Evacuation Notices should be in multi lanuages as the place also caters for overseas visitors. Fob-cards have glitches after many attempts when using the elevators! The surrounding environment is way too noisy, but that is what comes with living so central in the Capital City. The upside of this place is their receptionist Naomi, very friendly helpful and has great customer service skills. Jamie is a great manager, and John the building maintenance they will acknowledge you and say hello. The cleaning staff have great attitudes, always smiling and working hard. Good accommodation for short-term, studying students and those who work within walking distance. If your not honest then improvement will never happen"."

Nice people to talk to. But of a bumpy start to the long term tenancy. The amenities are on the better side than most places set out like this place. Internet rates are expensive for long-term tenants. Shared facilities seem to be taken care of. Rooms could have come with fridges and tv (not sure if you can bring your own). Over all this place is a lot better than the set up and or other boarding opportunities.

Been living there for a month now. Simple room with double bed and own bathroom, nothing to complain. Common area large with ping-pong table, pool table and TV with Sky. Kitchen a bit dirty but you get used to it. Right in the center so worth it for the price.

I liked living there for I felt comfy in my own large bedroom lvl7, looking down on main rd and had my own bathroom too.

Very cheap (140p/w) What kind of room? U never know, could be a double room with or without bathroom or even a 4-bed room. Very disorganised, reception is useless, they never know who is leaving or when. Also no oven in the kitchen or place to smoke. Nevertheless, very good location, nice common area to play and drink so usually a good environment.
