Dough

Went to Dough this morning, had the 3 cheese toastie which was really nice. The pickles on the toaste really balanced the creaminess of the cheese.The staff were super friendly, and approachable.The coffee was good too...I had to invoke my superman strength will power not to walk out of there with 1 of every donut as they looked amazeballs.

Coffee is pretty good, possibly the best in Upper Hutt . Service is ok, a bit flat. There’s one barista who’s slow, distracted and doesn’t seem to care too much about getting coffees made well, especially annoying when ordering take away.

Very friendly service even when they are busy. Tasty falafel sandwich, a bit dry but comes with extra sauce! It is a full meal even without the mashed potato and salad, it's cheaper too when getting it without sides.

I enjoy their products and coffee but emailed two weeks ago in regards to alive fruit flies in my hot cross bun packet. I asked for either a refund or a new pack of hot cross buns if possible (with photos showing evidence of the fruit flies inside) and no one replied or acknowledged my email lol

Burger on a plate entry was BEAUTIFUL! So good, I can forgive it being smaller than many of the other entries. The croquettes that came with it....bloody lovely!!! Possibly 4 or 5 of those amazing morsels would be a better number to offset the smaller burger. Beer was matched perfectly and the service was both very fast and very good. Even saw the chef pop out to great what looked like a couple of regulars which I always think is a nice touch. All in all a great experience.

Customer service was pretty bad and they could probably benifit from learning the menu so its easier to order. I ordered the ham and cheese toastie, this was all the ham" that was in it lol. The only thing I will give credit for was the potatoes were actually really nice. Not a place I would visit again."

I've been to Dough several times over the past few years and I've been able to watch the experience going downhill. The first time I went, the service was fast and the food was delicious and innovative, even if it was a little pricy. In contrast, the most recent experience was appalling. The food took 20 minutes to come out despite the cafe being pretty quiet, I ordered the brioche french toast only to be told that they were out of brioche despite them being a bakery and it being only 2 hours after they opened on a regular weekend. When it finally did arrive it was extremely dry and smelled and tasted like fish and chip batter - a far cry from the delicious food they produced when they first opened. I also got a doughnut to take away for someone and it was given to me in a paper bag that was pressed down on the icing which left most of the icing stuck inside the bag. All up I paid over $30 for a cup of weak tea, dry 'french' toast, and a squashed doughnut. Such a disappointing experience, I will not be going back.

Delicious baked goods. Great service. Good prices. Will come back
