A magical evening! Was unsure what to expect from this combined hot springs/stargazing tour but was very impressed. Our female guide (whose name escapes me - but was originally from Australia) was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the all things astrology and on Māori stories/legends. The star gazing through the telescopes was excellent the education skills and efficiency of the team in changing views was noted. To finish the time in the hot springs whilst gazing at the stars was so relaxing. Where else would you be able to do that! A must do if stopping over in Tekapo.

An amazing experience to look at the stars! We we're lucky to have the clouds hold off until we were leaving and got to see some awesome stars in the sky and hear stories about them. I hope to be able to come back someday when a planet is visible! We had a full moon so also seeing the sky without moonlight would be amazing. Laying in the hot pool and staring into the sky made for a great end to a magical day in Tekapo! :)

Would not recommend booking this in advance since they don’t offer refunds due to bad weather (unlike other weather-dependent activities). The alternative indoor VR experience is very underwhelming in comparison. However, the staff is friendly & knowledgeable though!

As the weather was bad, we could only enjoy a virtual reality tour of Tekapo’s night skies. Horrible cold and cloudy day but the hot pool warmed us up.Our young and friendly guide, Peter was incredibly knowledgeable, humble and a great storyteller. He answered any questions thrown at him, you can tell he really loves astronomy. Overall great experience and highly recommended!

Loved the stargazing tour. Despite some clouds, we were still able to view stars and planets through the telescopes. Very interesting commentary by the knowledgeable guides. Floating in the pool on the lilos watching the stars was awesome.

The tour is really good and they bring you to the local observatory and explain a lot. In addition they had three telescopes to see various constellations and learn more about the stars/nightsky.But I've been just a little bit outside the city a day after and saw a fantastic/similar sky (milkyway/shootingstars).Since the weather is often not really predictable they offer a refund in case you cannot go stargazing! But the tour is a little bit too expensive for what's offered and I did not like the big group of more than 20 people. Felt more like mass tourism and made it difficult to enjoy the stars. In summary, I would still recommend the tour if you have limited time... other than that I would recommend to go on your own.

Oh well, this place looks good but the experience is just not worth it.With AUD 120 per head, we had to sit inside and watch a video in VR HEADSET (explaining constellations and their background why and how), felt like I was back in physics class. After that, we were told to change to hot water springs where we should be able to see the galaxy/stars. Well, nothing was visible coz it was cloudy.--- I mean first if it is rainy/cloudy -> they should cancel the experience-- feel it's better to go to Johns Peak for a free view of the same stars.-- For a hot pool book one in Queenstown (worth it)Just wasn't worth it!

Was superb bless as we got to see the best dark sky and stars possible. It was very well organised and we got to use the telescopes and to soak in the hot spring gazing at the most amazing stars and galaxies. Very worth the value.

We sadly couldn't see any stars as there was a massive cloud blanket for the entire tour. But we did enjoy the hot pools and the interesting commentary by the guide. Instead of the live view, we had a VR view of the sky, stars and constellations. If we had more time in Tekapo, then we would have considered changing the booking to another night. Got some nice hot pools and relaxing time with the fam.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon. As avid startgazers, this was the ultimate experience. The telescope experience is great and the storytelling plus narration by our guide, Hannah, was brilliant. The tour provides hot blankets and some hot beverages along with bathing wear if required. We were lucky with a cloudless sky so we did have an enhanced experience!
