Staff are so friendly and professional. I had an email correspondence from an office administrator named Isaiah Tiuka and he was lovely to deal with. I would definitely feel comfortable recommending Cumberland Hall to future students :)

Great accommodation for first year University of Victoria students. Perfect if you are studying design or architecture as it's about halfway between the Kelburn and Te Aro campuses and a very short walk to the center of town. Room sizes are decent and very modern compared to other University halls. The rooms are very well lit with large windows and plenty of light fittings. Rooms may get a tad hot in the summer (all rooms have a heater for winter). Rooms on floor 2 through 10 are directly accessible via lift whilst the top two floors require stairs and have considerably lower ceilings. Wifi coverage was average to poor in residents rooms but excellent in the hallways. During my stay (2018) food was adequate but certainly not great. There was no limit to how much you ate but usually the lack of flavour was enough to warrant the occasional pizza express trip (would definitely recommend pizza express for quality cheap pizzas). The common area on floor one was excellent with plenty of space and handy study rooms. Washing and drying machines are gold coin operated and worked often enough (see photos of location). Incoming mail is all processed by the office and residents notified via email.
