Sakura Sushi

I had a large chicken Katsu. It was MOSTLY chicken skin and the rice was burnt.I understand all prices are increasing. I also understand that you may have opted for mantianing retail prices fixed to keep your customers and sales' levels.But I feel it is WRONG to maintain the prices at the cost of such a massive quality drop.I've been a customer for a while and believe you deserve a 4 star rating on average, but today's experience was remarkably awful.

Very good chicken katsu. Come there sometimes for lunch. Do not particularly like the rice as it tastes kinda sweet. Lots of to choose from . Very popular and fast paste place!The staff is very kind.They offer regular and large size on dishes. This place is always packed , and there is always aline hut somehow you never wait more than 5 minutes !

Delicious Katsu chicken donburi. The most friendly staff and who went above and beyond for their customers. They have 5$ sushi boxes at 3pm.

Chicken katsu bowl was overpriced and very watery - couldn't finish it.

Update 8th Feb 8,months since my last visitThey not only have equalled the previous service and food experience they have absolutely surpassed it.This Japanese food is the most delicious Japanese food in New Zealand.No matter the meal the food offered excelled my expectations at every level. This shop nails japanese cuisine everytime.The staff are amazingly friendly and I know will probably eat there more as the whole package of great food good prices and great service is unequalled in NZ I truely recommend for everyone wanting to experience genuine Japanese food call in on them in lower lambton quay.I enjoyed a very delicious brunch a sakura specialIt was absolutely amazing it was totally authentic.I recently had a bad experience with a sushi chain in Auckland. But Sakura Sushi is the real deal.The rice was cooked perfectly and all the ingredients prepared to perfectionThe staff are helpful and friendly I have spent many years in Japan and have a japanese wife and she could not have prepared this meal betterTotally recommend Bon Appetit everyoneThe Sakura Sushi is located 17 Lambton Quay on the left hand side of Lambton QuayVery central and convenient for a quick bite or a healthy lunch

One of the best sushi and japanese cuisine place in Wellington. This is my new favorite place, everything is so beautifully presented and is also very flavorful. Highly recommend.

I had a live snail in my chicken katsu lunch today. It is so disgusting. Do they wash and check the vegs before they serve?

5 stars for the lovely customer service and efficiency. But 1 star for the vegetarian donburi. The fritter was yum but the 'tofu' and sauce were weird and extremely sweet. I am curious about the chicken katsu that is so popular and whether its the same sauce (?) - if so I assume the chicken helps balance the sweetness.

Have had lunch here regularly for almost four years. Fantastic food and lovely staff!
