Worst experience dealing with government office!! When they received my application for Name Change"

Just wanting to say how impressed I was with the staff at Auckland Internal affairs and especially the Security guard on site. He was well mannered and very approachable; He wasn’t as limited as your typical ‘stand at the door’ security. He managed to help out where he could and was very knowledgeable with internal affair matters ie. trying to assist when reception queue piled up and even grabbed forms for customers to get everyone moving along. A customer service star!!!!I’ve come to know a lot of people with the ‘that’s not my job’ mentality but he seemed to go above and beyond his work-title. Very, very impressed!

I received very good service when I visited today 16 Nov 2022. The person who attended me delivered well beyond expectation. Thanks most appreciated.

I've just stayed on hold for 25 minutes, on the phone, being told my call was important etc etc. Now I've checked online and they close at 4 pm. It's now 4.58 pm. Would have been helpful if I'd been told at once that I had called out of hours - most phone systems now cover that.I requested a paternity search for a client's application for letters of administration. They emailed me today to say my payment had been declined and therefore my application for a paternity search was on hold and I had to phone [the 0800 number] to make payment. That's why I was on the phone.I have checked my records - the application was delivered to them by courier on 1 March. At no time between 1 March and today have there been inadequate funds in the account to pay the fee (yes, I've checked). I gave them the correct details (yes, I've checked). So they must have entered the wrong details.I've emailed to suggest they try the payment details again.No idea how long all of this is going to take.Their turnaround time was supposed to be 1-2 weeks, now it is closer to a month. Even without these additional avoidable issues.It's time this system was put online so you could at least make an online request and pay online and know your request had got past the first hurdle. You can do it to request other certificates. It shouldn't be impossible. And it certainly shouldn't take weeks to get an answer.

48 minutes on hold today, no answer, call dropped out.56 minutes on hold yesterday, no answer, call dropped out.Last week - 1.20hrs on hold, no answer, guess what? Call dropped out.2 weeks ago - 45 minutes on hold. Call dropped out.One month ago - 2 hours on hold, no answer, CALL DROPS OUT.I've had faster root canals than this, like literally.
