Emerald and Ebony

We’re actually submitting this review 8 months prior to our wedding, and have been communicating with Jodie for about 10 months thus far. I mention this to highlight the fact that in this relatively short time period, we have found and booked all our big ticket items for our wedding. This is not to say that we have been rushing, or felt forced into making quick decisions, but I think it shows the quality of Jodie’s work, and her high level of efficiency.Jodie has been incredible to work with, with her high level of commitment, understanding, and professionalism. Every step of the planning journey, she has gone out of her way to cater to our wedding needs. No question is too silly, no request for additional information seems a burden, and in every instance, we have been more than satisfied with the options she has presented us.Until recently, my fiancé and I had different days off due to the nature of our jobs. This made it virtually impossible to sit down and do the amount of research and organising required for the ‘wedding of our dreams’. This experience has truly highlighted the sheer amount of time and effort that is required to feel comfortable and happy with the countless decisions that go into planning a wedding. If we had embarked on this planning journey without Jodie, there is no way we would have found half of our chosen vendors, or even know the right questions to ask them to make sure they suit our needs.Whether it be to answer random little questions, or be available for video calls when we just need to talk it out, Jodie is there for us. All the information she gathers is sent through in a format that is easy to digest, and we are always given time to go through it properly before any decision is made. She also emphasises that if we are ever not happy with the options she presents, we simply need to let her know and she’ll start hunting again. But up until this point, we’ve not had to do that at all. She’s taken the time to get to know us, and our tastes - so there hasn’t been a single time we haven’t found our perfect vendor in her original proposal. Jodie genuinely cares about our wedding, and the vision that we have. She is equally as excited, and this is so apparent every time we communicate with her. We know when we make the final decision on our vendors, that Jodie has covered all the bases, and we can make the decision confidently, without worrying that we have forgotten something or haven’t asked the right questions.The whole planning process has been so easy and stress free. My fiancé and I can not stop harping on to all our engaged friends on the importance of a wedding planner. We just want everyone to have the painless experience that we have had, during what should be such a special and happy time in a couples life together.We highly recommend Emerald and Ebony to anyone planning their wedding, whether it be big or small, and no matter your budget. While it may seem like an extra expense at the time, but we know for certain we couldn’t have found the vendors Jodie has presented us on our own, and ultimately she has saved us money. Keep an eye out for our final review after our actual wedding day! But I doubt our feelings will change between now and then.Thank you Jodie for all your hard work!

We made a wedding cake for the clients of Emerald and Ebony. Jodie is a very pleasant and easy person to work with. Each communication was clear and natural, no extra questions were needed. The timing, place and flowers - everything was organised perfectly for the cake on the day. Highly professionally!Definitely will be happy to work with Jodie again.

The words in this review won't do nearly enough justice for what Emerald and Ebony did for us as our wedding planner. No amount of writing will truly encapsulate, the time, effort, and result that Jodie achieved for us, to ensure that our special day was exactly that. Special.My husband and I became engaged around 18 months ago. We were excited as anything, and the wedding planning started pretty much that night. But it soon became apparent that if we wanted the wedding to live up to the hype, the excitement, the vision that we were building towards, we were going to need some serious help. Not to mention, we were also trying to plan a wedding smack bang in the middle of a global pandemic.We both work full time jobs, and at the time, did not share any days off together, so actually trying to find anytime to sit down with each other and start planning this thing, was near impossible. It became clear that this was going to be a lot harder, and more time consuming than we could have ever imagined. What's worse, as time went on, what was meant to be a fun and exciting endeavor, was quickly turning into a tedious, time consuming, almost dreaded chore. It was with these realisations that we finally made the decision to reach out to Emerald and Ebony.The concept of wedding planner was pretty foreign to us, and we frequently got the occasional, puzzled questions, such as “hmmm that seems like an expensive luxury”, which was code for “hmm seems like a waste of money to me”. But here's what we soon discovered - by hiring a wedding planner, we secured ourselves the most cost effective way to have our wedding.Prior to hiring Emerald and Ebony, we could already tell we were falling into the trap of just wanting to make quick decisions, based on the fact that we were tired and over it, instead of finding the best option for our needs and budget. This is where Jodie shined. She took all of that stress and anxious/rushed decision-making off our shoulders. Jodie took each aspect of the wedding, and meticulously researched each option to ensure everything she proposed fit within our budget and vision we had for our wedding. With this information we were able to make informed decisions, and pick the best vendors for us. Jodie was always very clear that if there was ever a situation where we were unhappy with the options presented, she could go back and research more for us. However we never ran into this issue, and were able to find all our vendors within the original proposals Jodie prepare. This gave us great confidence in Jodie, as it showed she understood the vision we had for our wedding, and had listened to our wants and needs.It was through this process, bit by bit, we slowly released, that we were going to get everything we wanted on our dream day, all whilst staying within budget. Which we know would never had been possible if we went at it alone. Jodie’s extensive knowledge of event planning meant she not only was able to keep us on track, but was also able to let us know of all the extra bits and pieces we would never have known we had to consider. She also stayed on top of all the covid related news, and was able to inform us as regulations were changing.As for the day itself. Well as you probably guessed, it was amazing, and that by no small means, was thanks to Jodie and her husband David. We had absolutely no stress at all on the day, and with the support of the Emerald and Ebony team, the day went ahead like a dream. There could have been 100 things going wrong in the background, but we were none the wiser, which is exactly why we wanted ‘on the day coordination’ along with Emerald and Ebony’s planning services.We will never know how people plan their weddings on their own, because it is a monumental task. We were able to sit back and truly enjoy our engagement, instead of being stressed and over it, and we will be forever grateful for that.We will forever be urging all of our engaged friends to hire a wedding planner, because having one for our own wedding was invaluable!
