Syd was kind and patient with us when discussing our ceremony, and made efforts to confirm his attendance the day before the wedding.Unfortunately upon arrival my partner noticed that Syd was not present, and we came to discover that he had forgotten about us.Nevertheless, Syd arrived and said some lovely words during our ceremony. Unfortunately he did forget how to pronounce our last names, which our guests and ourselves found thoroughly amusing.Other reviews describe Syd to be rude and grumpy but we did not find that this was the case. He also gave us a fantastic discount.

Extremely lovely gentleman and very helpful. Has helped myself and my partner twice now. Highly recommend him.

What an arrogant, self opinionated, rude grumpy old man. I told him not to bother signing my document I would go to another JP. Tore up my document with his stamp on and left. I advise no one to waste their time with this old man.

One of the first things Syd asked my colleague and I is if we were married; whether because this is a part of his role as a celebrant or out of typical amatonormativity, I don't know, but being viewed in that light made us uncomfortable. I hope we only caught him on an bad day.We felt a lot like we were invading his home, and furthermore that he wasn't aware we were invading his home. I'm not sure if he existed prior to our visit, or if he manifested in the minutes before we knocked on his front door.To his IMMENSE credit, he listened to our request and completed the assigned task a mere hour after we called to see if he was available. His effort was slow, but diligent, and we were able to clearly see his work on the process from start to finish.He requested quiet at the time; we gather he is not an individual for discussion related to your circumstance, so keep any small talk firmly away from the matter you're there for. If you really must, try to make generic social noises instead.Based on my review and others' later down the line, I conclude that if you and your circumstance fail to present normally" to Syd

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. No welcoming, he doesn’t even say Hello and just told us to sit down. The whole time he was pretty rude and 100% not happy with the experience, would never come again.
