Noodles 'N' Dumplings
A large portion of my friends and I have had a long-standing relationship with Noodles 'N Dumplings. This means we've seen it change subtly over the 10+ years since it first opened, and seemingly go through a few owners and/or operators in that time. It's been a tenure of ups and downs in quality, with us being pleased with the food, and then sometimes let down, at times taking long breaks from returning due to being left dissatisfied.I am pleased to now say though, it seems as though we have seen a return to quality and new life breathed into the operation of the restaurant.Whilst the service never really lacked, the food quality is arguably as good or better than ever before.Highly recommend the fried dumplings, and especially the vege ones, even if you love meat dumplings (the pork will likely not disappoint at all) but they are amazing. Also the 'Hot Pot' meals, that come out in a stainless bowl elevated above a long-buring fuel to keep the meal piping hot for a long time, again special mention to the vege option again, but any will iekly be as good as appetizing as they seem. Most meals should speak for themselves, and I would advise trying anything you like the sound of, as the love and care in the food prep is seemingly back or at its best.

One of my absolute favourite places to eat out in Palmerston North!Vegetarian options galore. My top recommendations are Vegetarian Dumplings, Dry Hot Pot Tofu/Vegetarian, and the Braised Eggplant & Potato. A small bowl of rice is a good extra but not essential. The soy sauce, vinegar, and chilli oil condiments on every table make an excellent dumpling sauce when mixed together to your taste. The Pu’er tea at the counter is hot, delicious, and goes well with the meal.As of 2023, I think there are new owners but the food is still exceptional! Same recipes and same satisfyingly cozy decor.

HOLY SMOKES. Ordered Fried Pork and Leek dumplings and Beef Fried Noodles - Changed my life. No joke.Note: They have Soy Sauce and Vinegar on their tables - in the same 'soy sauce' bottles that are ever-so-slightly labelled, so be careful.

Ordered stir fried chicken and cashew nuts for lunch, Was looking forward to it but the chicken was so unfresh and had a bad taste to it. This ruined my first experince at this place.Other friends ordered beef dishes and were happy with it.

Despite Chinese food being everywhere in New Zealand, it's pretty hard to find a restaurant that doesn't taste like they've shared their recipes with every other Chinese restaurant in the country. I almost lost hope for Chinese cuisine in Aotearoa, but being an optimist I decided to give this place a try, and I'm glad I did.The 3 dishes we decided to try were - Honey Soy Chicken and the Prawn & Chicken Noodles. We gotta say it was nice to find a place that actually pan tossed their chicken rather than drown it in sauce. The portion size was nice and the food had flavour. What more can you ask for?

I thought I’d try out this restaurant cause the reviews looked good, but do Not be deceived.A lady at the counter greeted me. I asked if they sell “crispy pork” as there were no photos on the wall, she said “Yes we do” so I added beef fried rice & squid to my order. When I received my order I noticed the crispy pork was not what it was but looked exactly like sweet & sour pork (Deep fried drizzled with orange sauce & vegetables). I confronted the lady at the counter that she had mistakenly misinterpreted what I asked for & given me sweet & sour to her response she said “this is how we do our crispy pork” I even showed them a photo & they told me that was a Vietnamese dish, at this point she was being ignorant along side one other staff. As I looked up on their website I couldn’t find any crispy pork but to my surprise found what they served me which Was sweet & sour pork.A few blocks down I found another Chinese restaurant called HK, now they understood what Crispy Pork is. So I thought I’d show them the dish I was given by “Noodle N Dumplings” & explained what had happened. They confirmed whilst giggling knowing exactly what it wasOverall the squid I ordered were 6 tiny pieces for $8.50 & the beef fried rice only had 6 strips of beef! What a joke!I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this restaurant although the empty tables say it all. Best to spend your money where businesses genuinely care. This restaurant needs 0 stars

SO GOOD. Vegan and vegetarian dishes available. Exactly the kind of ambience you want for a the type of restaurant that it is. Free pu’er tea available at a tea station. Highly recommend the vegetarian dumplings, dry vegetarian hot pot, leek and egg pancakes, and scallion pancakes.

The food matched expectations and the portions had good size. You have to order and pay at the cashier and will get the food in good time. The decorations of the restaurant are minimal, could have a bit more flair.
