A good spot for young couples to enjoy the quiet romantic times bathing in the moonlight or starlight with the seawaves rhyme. It would be a perfect place for escaping if there were drinkable water or power available.

Only visited, didn't stay overnight. Basic campsite. You need to bring everything you need for your stay. The drive in (26km gravel road) especially towards the end is not for the fainthearted. Limited cell coverage, my spark phone worked slowly. Beautiful place, if you want to get away from the world you could do far worse.

The cold showers, drop toilets and gravel road in is worth this gem. Magnificent scenery. Fresh water is available. This was a great spot for a self contained campervan

One of my favourite places to stay during off-peak season, especially late autumn while weather isn't too cold, and fishing is still great. Basic DOC campsite right on beach, ideal for kayak fishing, swimming, coastal trail walks/runs or relaxing enjoying the sunset with a glass of your favourite.

Its a bit of a trek to get there but its absolutely worth it! Had a few nights in a camper here and loved it. No phone signal as well so it's a great place to switch off.

Clean facilities. BBQ area with table settings, games, and actual BBQ available. Long drops and cold showers available with rope/hooks to hang your solar. All lockable stable stalls. Also tap water and well kept grounds. But the view from your campsite is the best, beachside!!

Port Jackson Camping Ground
A fantastic campsite right on the shoreline of a safe, sandy beach that is perfect for swimming. Sites are large and there are plenty of trees around for shade. Showers and toilets, despite being long drops, are spotless and cleaned ever morning. DOC wardens are friendly and helpful (there is also heaps of local information on the noticeboard). Cooking & washing shelter is well designed for protection from the elements. Picnic tables have been painted to double up as board games (snakes & ladders, checkers etc.). Well worth the 90 minute drive on the narrow, windy, gravel road from Coromandel Town

Such a fantastic place the beach is incredible. The site is nice and quiet and it's a great location for gazing at the stars. This does have toilets and showers but they are basic (drop toilets and cold showers) - to be expected on a location so remote. Gravel roads to get here too. So worth it though.

Awesome place to camp. Pretty remote, take everything you need with you. Can camp right on the beach front or back under the trees. Beach great, especially for kids, nice little waves roll in, no drop off, calm, as in no rip or undertow. Few sealice bit us though.Great walk up over the hill to the right of the camp ground at end of beach. Drive 5 mins up the road towards Fletcher Bay and park at car park oark and walk back to Port Jackson across farmland and cliff top track.Swimming in the creek at the left end of the beach is great too. We had good cell phone reception the whole time for a remote area!
