Manawa Wetland Reserve
A great daytime wetland reserve especially if you have young children as they’ll love to feed and play with the ducks with seeds. At nighttime, the area is really dark which is great for the ducks and animals but not so much for human. Also please be aware that dogs must be on leashed.

Great little park, good place to take the kids for a walk and feed the ducks.

Nothing special about this place, however when I went for a walk around the walk way. I was appalled at the' dreaded convolvulus creeper weed growing where ever it liked. Quite sad. I'm a shamed to live in New Lynn, that we only care about building new homes, and not looking after our parks. ???? !

This is my go to place for natural beauty peace and quiet. It has to be Auckland's best kept secret.

Always a good walk! Today we took left over peas and corn to feed the ducks. Recently there’s been some pest plant control and general cleaning up of the area done also, which makes it even more pleasant.

The top lake is an old crown Lynn dump site for broken ceramics, pipes and bricks and in summer it dries up revealing the surface where many shards of pottery were dumped. It can be fun digging about for pretty pieces. Kids loves doing that. There are many ducks and the pukukeko families are lovely. The walkway around lush deep valleys if taken slowly is enchanting as there is a beautiful little stream which runs through it and at times with a bit of limberness, you can access it.Always a very happy vibe there.

Tranquility and birdlife in Margan Ave! My boy loves going there to see the ducks with their ducklings. Highly recommended for young families to visit. Was very dry last summer with little rain so the pond had dried up. Nice to see birds return this spring

Quite a sad reserve now, it was once well taken care of by the council, now the ponds are often left empty and polluted like crazy. Also full of invasive weeds all over the place, has unfortunately become a hangout for drunks and druggeis that often set up homeless encampments in the bushes , probably why not many people visit it compared to when it first opened 20 years ago.

The walk needs to be lit up its so dark at night.. Great trek though, hahah.. Better to know your way through, otherwise 30 mins walking you may end back at point A.. lmfao.. classic
