Wangapoua - New Chum's Beach Carpark
The walk from Whangapoua to New Chums is awesome on any day. Go at low tide. It takes about an hour there and back with plenty of time to walk to the end of New Chums

Wangapoua - New Chum's Beach Carpark
Access is quite difficult along a rocky shoreline and then a relatively easy track over the saddle. You can climb to the top of the peninsula for a stunning photo if a nice day but it is a very steep and difficult climb and also descent for an elderly person like myself. No problem for young people. Best to go at low tide as you have to cross a creek which is shallow when the tide is out.

Lovely beach and starting point for the walk to New Chums Beach (30-40 minutes around rocks and through bush over headland). Car park small. Compost toilet with hand sanitizer, many flies!

Well the car park nothing to write home about, but the beach was great, worth the easy walk. Northern end of the beach was a bit buggerd by the red weed. Very pleasant spot, too well promoted so not as secluded as it used to be. Still a delightful coromandel beach.

On the sunny day, need to come early for carpark otherwise can park on the road. Very nice beach and clean
