Excellent Bridge. 27th November 1879 Union Bridge was opened. I really enjoyed viewing & gaining a greater perspective on this bridge & history. The bridge has a B Classification from the NZ Historical Places Trust. The bridge covers the total span of the river without the use of columns & has played a critical role in the history of Hamilton. Situated very near the entrance of Memorial Park, which will get you into Parana Park. ( Heritage Trails ) Thanks Charles, CJ's Junk Removal Service, Hamilton, NZ

Iconic bridge structure spanning the Mighty Waikato River in Hamilton NZ. The walkway on the northern side of the bridge offers lovely views of Hamilton and the Waikato River. Both sides of the bridge link to walkways alongside the Waikato River and to memorial park, Hamilton CBD and the Hamilton Museum, for an interesting walk it is possible to reach the world renowned Hamilton Gardens by using the river paths.
