New World Otaki

The price in store is different than online. We saw the product on special online, but when we got the store was charged different prices. And duty manager refused to refund the different. Very disappointed, very confused.

Great deli and best cheese scones ever.

Quite possibly one of the worst new world's in New Zealand. Put all my shopping back when I had to go get my eftpos card. Yes I know my bad for not checking I had in 1st place but Pak n save had better patience.All fresh herbs are dead, worse state than warehouse. Mandarins are always rubbish. Very limited range in everything.Kept trying to have a good shopping experience here for 2 years and today I give up completely.Also don't try say hi to the elderly worker who looks like a grey fish, they will completely ignore you. Neuro spicy ppl do not shop here.

This New World branch has so much potential, being one of two supermarkets servicing a growing Otaki.Availability of stock is very inconsistent depending on the time of day you visit the store. It can be a lucky dip.The foyer is often jammed with stock. As a customer. The first impression of the store should be clean and clutter free.The Deli closes down well before the store closes. So if you are after purchasing some fish at 6:30. Goodluck! You are likely to be told it has been put in the freezer.Front of house staff are lovely. The biggest asset to the store presently.The Deli has a toxic culture which is undermining what could be an excellent store. The service is often abysmal. There are some great staff in the department but something is ultimately needing to be fixed.

Stuck in the stone ages. No self check out, disorganized floor plan, and tricky to find anything.

Good variety here. Good selection of craft products. Staff are helpful and friendly... it makes a big difference to be treated like a human being when your spending your hard earned!!!

Prices are shocking unless you purchase what's on special. Not impressed that there is no 2-3-5kg bags frozen chicken portions. Every unhealthy option available for a premium. Fruit and vege prohibitively priced.At least the meat is better than countdown.Staff are friendly. Sad that the typical small town gets held to ransom pricewise and selection.

Awesome shop, great staff and an ice cream. What else can you want

Suggest providing staff training for newer staff and set some clear expectations on how to work with customers. Some don't even say kia ora or hello.I think this might be a nationwide issue but communicate clearly if you're packing bags or not - or is New World rebranding to 'Pak n Save'? I find staff will just sit there staring at you while you try and quickly pack your groceries as you hold up the queue, and also try and pay. It's a horrible experience especially with kids. Today I asked the guy if NW packs back, he responded and said 'I can pack your bag but at one point we weren't soooo ...' Unsure how I was supposed to respond to that without being passive aggressive back.

Great beer range better than most bottleshops.
