I was in ward 29, the Staff where amazing so a BIG Thank you to all the staff on ward 29, also a BIG Thankyou to all the surgical Staff. The care and support I was given was amazing. I was lucky enough to be one of the first in the new surgical area which is so much nicer. So we are on the right track towards a good hospital.

25/06/23 some time after midnight I was having self-harm and other thoughts in my mind very strongly so I decided to walk to the Hospital. I stood at the counter for 8-10 mins and the big woman with dark hair looked at me twice then ignored me completely. She was ignoring another lady too, who looked quite frantic.I needed help . . . . I didn't get any. I left crying my eyes out not knowing what to do, but as I survived the night I called my best friend the next day. She was more helpful. Not the first time this happened. Please hire professionals who care.

I was forced (by mental health) to stay in the waiting room overnight for 10+ hours. I was incredibly sore, incredibly tired & they denied me having meds. This hospital is potentially the worst in the country. I've had other instances of neglect under their system too. The one star that I had to put can go to my psychologist who's actually amazing. Not like the rest of the hospital.

Excellent service from the ED team received by a person with whom I recently accompanied. Attending Dr & Nurses were prompt, professional and thorough. Reception was great too. Thank you.

The hospital facilities are awful and far too small for the region BUT THE STAFF ROCK! My husband was in ED for 10 hours (it was very busy and there was a notice saying they had staff missing). But at all times he was dealt with professionally and in a kind way. A big thank you from both of us. The staff deserve so much better. They are run ragged, but this isn't passed on to the people they are caring for.

My husband had a light heart attack. We were looked after immediately in the ED. The service was absolutely fantastic and we cannot thank the staff at the emergency department enough for their quick response. He was admitted to hospital and we still cannot fault any treatment or services. We are so thankful for their fantastic service. Thanks to all the staff for their patience and friendliness.

Palmerston North Hospital is just awful in every way! Absolutely appalling services thoughout the whole spectrum-ED is toally filthy and full of after hourse people who could be tretaed by doctors but they think its a 9-5pm job these days...the whole medial system in this area is a sad joke -staff are rude and belligerent and I'm at a total loss on why people with such terrible attitudes towards others in need would work in the health sector. You sure as heck do not want to be sick in this district that is for sure.

Vastly negative experience at this hospital, often dismissed and triage system isn't great. Wasn't seen for 13 hours when sick with covid when I had symptoms that indicated a blood clot. The mental health sector is atrocious. This hospital is honestly the main reason I'm leaving Palmerston North. We can do better

Mental Health Team does not care! They keep discharging me even though my family and I KNOW I need help. I don’t even want to talk to them now, even when suicidal, because I have no faith in getting help.
