Te Hine Ruru

What a delightful piece of paradise Te Hine Ruru is. I booked in for a massage and didn't want to leave. Cushla is so skilled, supportive and empowering and immediately I felt rested, relaxed and rejuvenated. I am already planning a return trip.

Incredible place. Separate vrbo home on a private, secluded bay with crescent beach. Pictures and descriptions cannot do it justice. It is simply the most beautiful, serene place I have ever stayed. All three bedrooms have amazing views of the bay, and glass door panels that open fully, to bring the bedrooms to the outdoorsOwners have the only other house on the bay, and keep immaculate care of the house and grounds. I hesitated to write this review for fear that too many others will fall in love with it too, and make it difficult for me to book a return trip.

I went with my best friend and we had the most relaxing weekend. we started with sound healing, followed a yoga session and massage the next day. Such a beautiful setting and gorgeous home to relax and unwind. Cushla the hostess is warm and kind and the perfect person to help you make the most of your weekend retreat. I would definitely recommend the treatments on offer.

Our group of 5 women had a wonderful yoga and sound healing experience at Te Hine Ruru. It is such a wonderful magical setting and Cushla was an excellent leader. Super easy booking process as well!

I went to Russell with a group of girlfriends and we had a yoga session followed by the sound healing. Amazing experience and I highly recommend it! Cushla is very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The location is very special as well.

I cannot speak highly enough of Cushla and the beautiful space she has created at Te Hine Ruru retreat! We have never stayed in the retreat but always stop by when we are in the area for massages. Not only are they the best massages we have ever received, Cushla has always gone above and beyond to help us create special add-ons like yoga, mediation, and a cacao ceremony! She is truly magic both in her skill and the peaceful environment. Not to mention the space itself which is absolutely beautiful with stunning views! Truly a hidden gem in beautiful Bay of Islands!

Cushla is very gentle and insightful. She definitely is very gifted with her massaging skills, i still feel renewed in my body 3 weeks after the massage therapy. She really is wonderful to get to know, can’t rave about he enough!
