Amazing facility. I have never seen anything quite like it: A massive area of trails that consists of a huge, relatively easy loop track and a labyrinth of trails that lead off it. Trails are graded from easy to super advanced. Be prepared to ask for a bit of help because it can all be a bit overwhelming the first time. Sam, who does the bike repair, was amazingly friendly and helpful. Thanks man!

Photo's from the Te Pūtake O Tawa carpark.Easier access to the back trails. Clean toilets , small bike shop, cafe here. Drinking water and bike wash.Catch a shuttle from here for that quick access to the great hill trails.Great view of the carpark riding down from Eagke Versus Shark trail.

I've biked all around the world and the trails here are among the best. Just don't do the dangerous stuff unless you want a free helicopter ride.

Awesome parking and access facility. Cafe was closed mid week when I was there. Park here, not on tarawera road it's way safer

Excellent facilities. Showers and toilets are free and are great to take advantage of.. bike hire is good. Walking tracks thru the park are well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed our day. Food is terribly expensive . Being your own and sit on the benches..

Good place to start off if you want to do Eagle vs Shark or The Poaka mountain bike trails. Good toilet facilities and showers. Basic hot food and coffee on the weekends
