Christchurch City Hotel

Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of this time, but very happy to share some experiences.First, excellent location and is easy to find in the centre, with a lot of shopping areas around and restaurants.The room size is suited for 1-2 people, and nice staff in their reception. All their furniture are new and comfortable except the bed is too soft for my back, but it is not a complain.Comparing other hotels, they have a good value and very nice to travellers.

We had an excellent stay at Christchurch City Hotel. The location is terrific; right in the city centre with easy access to many landmarks, shopping and dining. We stayed on the 4th floor and heard absolutely no noise from the street. The rooms are spacious, luxuriously furnished and very comfortable. The staff were very kind and friendly every time we passed through the lobby and happy to help with information and suggestions. We would definitely recommend the City Hotel and happy to stay here again on our next visit to Christchurch!

Such a stylish and modern hotel! Not only with the beautiful circled window, but also excellent services, professional front desk with friendly meet and greet. Love that especially when I checked in in the midnight, the front desk was still around to meet and greet and even knew my name. Not like those nowadays only give me the key in the lock box. Feel warm and safe though I arrived so late.

Great place to bed down if you're having a function in town. Not badly priced. Beats loosing your license.

Stayed here a few times. Spacious, minimal and clean. Suitable for a work trip, probably not a honeymoon. Best shower pressure I’ve ever had. Love the Pukka tea selections. Location is smack bang in the CBD.

The price was great. I never heard noises from the hall or other rooms. TV was limited to FreeView channels. It supposedly had Netflix, but my TV indicated there was no internet. The room was warm and had plenty of natural light. The view was a bit odd on Level 2, but it wasn’t bad. I think I’d ask for a top floor next time. The sheets were a little rough…not quite scratchy, but not smooth/soft. Overall, I’d recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay with the hotel tremendously. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and meticulously cleaned everyday. The newest hotel with the unbeatable location also has a very reasonable rate.One reminder to international travelers whose phone don’t work in New Zealand: if you arrive during after-hours, please make sure you have the gate code sent to you beforehand.

Very good. Great location.Room was small but spotless.Best car park is just around the corner from the hotel. Much closer than the suggested one from the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights just recently, first arrived at the hotel, the reception was polite enough but not as helpful as any front desk staff coud be. The room was clean and comfy, location was fantastic, environment was superb (quite, few hote guests).But somehow my wife lost her wedding ring from our room. We only noticed by the end of the day, and should have picked up earier.Mr. Sui Beng Teh, the hotel manager, made it even worse from a travellers point of view. He has the worse attitude to the whole incident, instead of offering his empathy, he pushed responsibility back to the hotel guests who lost the wedding ring in his room at his hotel. His passive aggression is throughout all the poor google review!He reacted bluntly when questioned about CCTV other than the door access record he could provide immediately, being agreesive at his answer and attitude towards to someone who turned over the room to just look for the missing ring. He was not friendly, empathatic nor welcoming despit he is in hospitality industry.Im not blaming at anyone here or making any accusation on anyone but he as the hotel manager was the only one we could seek help for in a foreign country, and he expected us undedstanding how police and system worked here. To us, he made us sound like idiots and being forgetful on our own properties.
