Fantastic service from Sandy. One of our cats needed emergency treatment for poisoning. Sandy treated her after hours and even took our cat home to keep an eye on her. Now that's special care. Thanks Sandy

We take our dogs here and have had nothing but exemplary service from Sandy and her team of very caring and professional staff. Buddy the cream dog has had some major health problems in the past and thanks to the amazing care he has received he is now on the right road to recovery. Many thanks again. These dogs are part of our family and the best vet care is essential to that.

Last night our beloved cat was choking, we rang the emergency vet and she told us she would call Elles Rd vet and for us to meet the vet up there as they're our closest vet and the on call emergency vet for the area. My husband rushed up there with our cat who was still alive and breathing, but still choking only to find no one there as apparently they didn't answer their phone. The emergency vet line then told him to drive all the way across town with our choking cat to Waikiwi vet, of course out cat didn't make it despite my husband managing to dislodge the obstruction and doing chest compressions on the way. We are devastated with the loss of our beautiful cat and there's no doubt he would have survived if the on call veterinarian at Elles Rd vet had answered their phone and met my husband at the surgery! If you have an after hours emergency with your pet contact Waikiwi vet after hours as they're guaranteed to answer, don't even bother with Elles Rd vet.

Two stars only for the receptionist who was very polite and kind. However, I found the veterinarian to be overwhelmingly rude and judgemental. She made me feel terrible, like I was a teenager being told off by an adult. I was almost on the verge of tears by the time I got home. The prices for medications I didn't approve of broke my bank for the week. She just seemed rolled over me and did what she wanted.I think I would rather go the extra distance to another vet than to return here. Never again

We visited Elles Road Veterinary Centre yesterday for the first time. Both our cats needed annual jabs and a check on their acne.Never met the team before, but both the lady at the front desk and Sandy were very friendly. Sandy introduced herself when we met and seemed very relaxed with the animals.For a first visit, it was great to see how thorough Sandy was, giving both animals a thorough WOF - so to speak (LOL).Our previous Vet had no idea how to treat cat acne but Sandy was very knowledgeable and offered a solution without needing to use Goolge.Our cats seemed to enjoy the visit – they did not show any signs of stress.I would give the practice 5 stars but the bill was high. I recommend customers ask for the printed breakdown as the vets’ fees are normal, it’s the medications that ramp up the prices. They do take quite a few credit card options – which we needed to use.

My mum was told her cat was very sick, not eating and needed to be put down! When she picked him up (against the vets wishes) he ate fine but had lost a considerable amount of weight from the time he was with the vet! She then took him to another vet to get second opinion who said he was absolutely fine! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE

If you want to be verbally abused by the female vet then go here! I don't think I've ever met anyone so abrasive and with a total lack of professionalism. They also attempt to eke as much money as they can out of you. Never going back

DO NOT GO HERE!Came in with a $20 voucher to have my cat fixed I received a phone call later that night saying that they had to operate on an abscess or they would have to contact the SPCA to take my cat away. They did the very unessersary operation anyway and have now attempted to charge me an ridiculous amount of money for doing so. I found elles road unprofessional, rude and I am deeply upset with the stress they have attached to getting my cat fixed.

Been taking my wee dog there for years he's always been taken good care of. There are some people who have said negative stories in regards to sandy the owner but she's good at her job and u give respect you get respect back. I love my wee companion more than anything and she's been wonderful to him everytime we have had to go to the vet and there's been about 5 serious times.

Have been to Elles road for two different instances. The first time I thought maybe it was a on off and she was having a bad day but after going back this time I can confirm that I will not be back. Sandy is clearly just focused on making money and not the care of the animals that come into the centre or the clients she is dealing with. Not only is she terribly rude and disrespectful but the prices are far higher than other clinics. When attempting to engage in conversation she talks over you and is incredibly nasty, treating clients as though they are silly and no nothing about animal care or as though they don't care about their beloved pets Definitely will not be back.
