Hoon Hay Kiwi Bakery & Cafe

I don't leave reviews often, but this is a must! I've just discovered Hoon Hay Kiwi Bakery and I tell you, we will never go anywhere else!! Everything is so fresh and delicious. They are always topping up their food, so you're never disappointed. They have a HUGE selection to choose from! My husband's fave is the sausage rolls, best he's ever tried he reckons! I can't get enough of their cottage pies, the mince is perfect, the potato on top of smooth and cheesey, it's just perfect! I always get one (or two) slices of rice bubble slice and my daughter's try a different slice or cake everytime as there's so much to try! Lots of chocka filled sandwiches too. All the food truly tastes homemade and definitely kiwi traditional. The owners are absolute beautiful souls and always so happy to see us, always smiling and ready to help. I couldn't recommend this bakery enough! Just try it once, and then you'll never go anywhere else!

The most humble couple ever. Absolutely lovely. And the food is delicious. I love the peppered steak pie. Go there every week. Open every day. And when they do shut they definitely deserve a break. Thankyou. And they also say hi and have an amazing memory of us. :)

Most hospitable owners, who have a more than comfortable cafe. Great food choices including some cooked meals. Coffees and Teas nice, well made. Seating inside and out. Clean, tidy, well presented. Definitely worth a try. Open 7 days. Wish I took photos to show you

My favourite bakery!! There is an impressive range of pie flavours, sweet things, sandwiches and more, while you can also order food from their menu. The people working here are so friendly and great people. Would definitely recommend, I always visit if I'm nearby :)
