Nice track to woolshed green hut, do it counter clockwise. Takes about 4-5h to get back to the carpark

Great tracks for all ages. They have done alot of maintenance & the tracks have been in great condition over winter. Great for trail running & hiking. Lots of options to make your trip longer or shorter whatever u feel up to. Alot of kids do this track as there is the old coal mine & things 2 keep them interested.

This is a fantastic walk in Canterbury NZ. It can be done as a loop if you start on the Ryolite Ridge Track and go to the woodshed creek hut where we had lunch before we walked out on the Miners track. Ryolite Ridge track has a couple of steep uphills and it takes about 3 to 3.5 hours to get to the hut. From the hut to get back to your car is about 2 to 2.5 hours. The track is well marked and in a hot day there is not a lot if shade. This walk is well worth the effort for amazing views.

Access point to Mt Somers DoC tracks. Parking for around 30 vehicles with two public toilets. Single lane gravel road access.
