At first I was really amazed by there manga selection but as soon as I actually went to buy it I realised the manga was not priced. I guessed it would be a normal 19 or 20 dollar book so I went up to the counter to buy it but he straight up said 27 dollars, I thought I hadn't heard correctly so asked asked again and he changed it to 28 dollars. I also paid in cash and he didn't even give me a receipt so I couldn't go back after. Overall the experience really wasn't that great and I feel a bit ripped off. The staff felt a little pushy as I was just trying to browse and kept talking to me. And then after I went out I found the same book online for 16 dollars. I don't really recommend going here as everything is over priced.

Good manga selection, a bit pricey but most of the time cheaper than buying online

I want this store to succeed, I want people to enjoy coming here, I want to enjoy coming here, and I want the reputation of this store to improve. I hope that you find yourself willing to listen to my review even if you think my criticisms are wrong, and I hope that changes can be made to make things feel fresh. The staff are nice, but some pushy. I think they should take a step back and let customers browse. They are very passionate, which is good, but I have had some situations where one staff member is explaining game concepts unprompted while I am browsing singles and reading card effects. I could tell them to stop, but it shouldn't fall on the customer to request to be left alone. Another staff member was really good at responding to game questions when asked, and didn't bother me too much while browsing unless I asked a question. There was another time where I was asking the staff a question about a specific product, and another staff member cut into the conversation and tried to upsell me on a separate item.I asked if they stocked the Vanguard reboot soon after it released, they said they ordered it in but had yet to arrive. I went in periodically from this point, enquiring about it, with the same answer. After a few months they still hadn't got that product in, while it was available in other places. They sell starter decks at market price only if they're worth more than the retail price, the rest outside of the new decks are still at retail price rather than being cheaper. Admittedly, this is common practice for some card stores in terms of MTG. For example, they have the first Digimon precon in stock, going for $99 vs the usual $25 - $30. I am unsure if they do this for their manga or figures. I think they could stand to lower prices on starter decks that don't sell so as to encourage new players to buy. They don't put prices on their manga (They're also sealed, so there would be no damage to the stock). Their manga is overpriced, as they seem to be converting directly from USD but not the current exchange rate. There are many reasonably priced options online. Stock that has been there for years is still there, either because prices aren't advertised or lowered. They have a sign outside and a flag that mentions a mega-sale, yet there is rarely ever anything on sale. I am assuming that manga is not their main source of income, but it really feels ornamental and an impediment on how comfortable it feels to be instore. They will do a bulk deal if you ask, which was very helpful.Their layout is cluttered, and space to play very limited and the store doesn't feel warm or inviting as a result. As they're trying to also be a manga and paraphernalia store on top of trading cards, I don't feel encouraged to play here. There is a second room that seems to only have boxes of stock (I assume) or empty cardboard that could be used to house a place for more people to play. Their current setup has their tables behind their Manga bookshelves, it feels very dark, gloomy and isolated from the rest of the store, even when all the tables are full of people playing. You cannot see the rest of the store at all from this vantage point. If you could see people playing, browsing, chatting to the staff and buying cards it would really bring the mood and atmosphere of the store up.These are simply my observations, I have no clue how this business is run on the backend, maybe there are issues outside the control of the staff. Though, after visiting this store for a few years now, I really just don't like going in here. This is one of the only stores that sells things for the card games that I want, and so I still come in from time to time. Staff behavior has improved, though. All of this has dissuaded me from visiting, and I would not recommend this store unless there was something specific you were looking for that is not stocked in other stores.

Rude, overpriced, insulted a customer into thinking they couldn’t afford an item but in reality the item itself was price 50x more than the actual realistic sale price.

Some of the most over priced Pokémon cards I’ve ever seen. The mark up was like 3-4 times maybe 10 times on some cards. NEVER buy singles from them. They be living like 20 years into the future. Dude literally said it’s an investment and that it will pay itself back in 20 years… OK bro that doesn’t mean you put the price up to what it could be in 20 years? it wasn’t even graded.Feel sorry for new peeps who would’ve bought off them, biggest con artists in NZ.

Advertised a YuGiOh regional (konami support event with prizes) that started at 10:45 at Armageddon.Arrived at 10am got told there is no regional and that they “may start something around 12-1pm and too just come back and check”Very disappointing. Felt under appreciated and that I wasted my money. Would not recommend this store.

Not bad, stock is rather pricey. There's things there they haven't sold since around about 2003 which are *still* the same price they were back then which isn't necessarily a good thing. The only massive gripe I have is that there's such a thing as overservicing, i.e. jumping customers the second they walk through the door. Attentiveness is one thing, but let people walk in and have a look first.
