Good caring staff but very understaffed. I was here last night as a patient, I waited about 5 hrs to be seen and bloods taken by a nurse, then waited another 2 or 3 hrs and still hadn't been seen by a Doctor and ended up going home because I couldn't bear the weight on my feet and legs any longer. Now I am back here been here a couple of hours and seen by nurse already but now face the dilemma of waiting to see a Doctor again. There are a lot of people here waiting so I'll wait, be patient and hopefully I might get seen soon.

No words to thank the team at the hospital, during my last stay and now every nurse and doctors had been so supportive ❤️ I know I get stubborn and not take medication or eat much but the nurses are there for me.Even I had bad days they come and try to cheer me up so that I don't feel low. They work so hard in all different shifts. These guys are awesome and they care

Over the last 12 months, a number of my family have had the misfortune of needing a hospital, including my daughter and very young, months old, grandson. On Saturday, another extended family member was admitted into the A&E after an accident.Over the last 6 months this particular family member has been admitted into A&E many times due poor health and the care they have received is amazing. On all of these visits, the doctors and nursing staff were attentive, reassuring and professional. On Saturday Dr Bernard Foley was on duty and was so lovely and kind. He made my family member and myself feel reassured and confident about the decisions that were made.He was very clear on the condition of them and the treatment they needed. He spoke in layman's terms and with some humour.Sometimes there is a wait but we realise how busy you all are.Thank you to all the staff at Auckland Hospital, in particular the doctors and nursing staff in the A&E. You do an amazing job under pressure and in some difficult situations. What would we do without you?We really appreciate the job you do.

Emergency wait is 3 hours. Booked me for a scan at 10.30am the next day. Told to arrive at 10. Got my turn at 12 pm.3 stars given for the customer service. Everyone was super friendly. The most important issue, government need to solve. We need more doctors and nurses.

I would honestly give this so called 'hospital' ZERO stars if it was possible. Staff are so rude, like I get that you are understaffed and underfunded but this is ridiculous. Whatever happened to treating your patients with diginity and respect. I have severe abdomen pain, struggling to breath and everyhing and they couldnt care less! No nurses checking up on you, you could be rolling on the floor dying and they wouldnt bat an eye. This was a really eye opener into how pathetic our healthcare system is. 7 plus hour wait, and still no word on how much longer I have to wait. Theres a time frame on how long youll wait on the TV, I got told to ignore it. If I dont know how long I will have to wait, then why leave a needle in my arm for HOURS. Why even have an emergency ward since people arent even getting seen or told when they will get seen.

I recently had the pleasure (if you can call it that) of undergoing rhinoplasty at Auckland Hospital, and I must say, the experience was exceptional. From start to finish, the team at the hospital was professional, attentive, and highly skilled. The pre-op consultations were thorough and informative, and my surgeon was fantastic. They took the time to explain the procedure and answer all of my questions, which put me at ease and gave me confidence in the process. Their level of care and attention continued throughout my stay at the hospital, which made a significant difference in my overall experience. The entire team at Auckland Hospital was fantastic, from the nurses to the support staff. They were always available to address any concerns or questions I had, and they made sure that I was comfortable and well-informed every step of the way.I'm delighted to report that the surgery was a success, and I'm thrilled with the results. The recovery process has been manageable, thanks in large part to the care and advice I received from the hospital staff.Overall, I highly recommend Auckland Hospital to anyone considering a rhinoplasty or any other surgical procedure. The level of care and expertise provided is truly exceptional, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Auckland Hospital, for everything!

Came in for emergency kidney surgery through urology who were amazing, clean and very helpful, had my surgery and then was moved to a ward on Level 8 and as soon as I had surgery on the Friday of a long weekend I was told I will be staying the night for observations and my partner couldnt stay due to it being a ladies only ward. He went home and got stuck in mega traffic then I was told my a nurse i can go home to and when i said i literally have no ride now cause i planned my stuff around them telling me they needed me for observation was told to catch a taxi!!! This would have been $200 easy, they turned around and offered to pay and I said i was not going anywhere as had only just come out of surgery and was in pain. 2hrs later they did ops and realised my oxygen levels were also down and said its a good thing i didnt go home. Our ward room also had a empty water jug on a dirty food table with a saline syringe in it and dirty tissues.I get all nurses, doctors, surgeons etc are under the pump but I have mortified to be asked to book a taxi to go home straight after surgery like wtaf cummon

At 1st this Hospital is like a maze, but once we figured it out it was fine, during the week days they have people situated at the entrances of the building available to help.We were very satisfied with the care and treatment that was given, shout out to ward 83 neurosurgery unit, 99% of the staff were amazing, the 1% need training on patient care and to learn empathy

I understand that hospital staff are underpaid and overworked. But I do not understand how you can continue to work in an empathetic-role when you come across as not caring and too busy to give you the time of day. This is how it felt when I turned up to ED with kidney stones. I arrived in severe pain, crying, vomiting and barely able to stand. The receptionist very rudely told me to join the queue and wait my turn. Thank you to the amazing person who was also waiting and when was called ahead of me told them that I needed to be seen first, by this point I was lying on the floor screaming in pain. I was rushed thru to a hallway. Where I sat again waiting and being asked questions in front of everyone else in beds in the hallway. A male doctor visited at some time in the night only to crack a few jokes and leave as quick as he arrived. I was eventually admitted to a ward. A filthy room. Rubbish strewn on the floor, dirty table tops with food smeared across them. I accidentally spilt water on my blankets. When I asked to have them replaced no blankets were available. Just a sheet. Dust everywhere. The toilet had an overflowing bin and nowhere to put sanitary waste. A dirty used cardboard bedpan was shoved under the sink. I’m truly thankful for free medical care, I’m thankful that I can easily access the hospital, I am thankful to the 2 workers (1 radiologist and 1 healthcare assistant) out of so many who treated me as a human being. But it is clear that the hospital needs an overhaul and some workers need to work in a role that brings them passion and fulfilment so they can once again be the empathetic person I’m sure they were when they first started working in healthcare.
