Perhaps the worst and most overpriced indian takeaway I have been to in recent memory, I went here about a week ago and I was charged 20 bucks for a small takeaway butterchicken and rice, no naan bread or anything.I could almost forgive the price if it actually tasted any good but I got clumps of powder butter chicken mix all throughout it which made me feel like I was doing the cinamon challenge...Seeing as I come from out of town I had no opportunity to confront the staff about this horrible experience, but suffice to say I wont be going back ever..

Beef saagwala - the rice was very well cooked., the food was hot and the service quick. The flavour of the beef saagwala was not as strong as I have had it elsewhere but it was enjoyable. The beef was tender and the sauce thick. The naan was well cooked.The service was quick once I placed my order but I did have to wait too long before a server came to the counter. I almost walked out but I wanted to try this restaurant.

The meals were really good, the service excellent, the place bright and clean. I know I will enjoy my meal there so I try to eat there whenever I'm in Te Aroha.

This is the best Indian I have had in years. I recommend pairing the delicious meals with the mixed pickles. I will 100% be ordering again.

Every meal we ordered was totally delicious and the heat of the curry perfectly balanced. Visit the Taj restaurant if you want a well priced meal with large portion sizes and great service. Thanks folks. We'll be back on our next trip.

Cosy, air conditioned restaurant for dining in or you can order takeaway. Excellent service from friendly staff. Good wine list with a selection of NZ wines. Plenty of variety on the menu and made to order. Picture is Mango Kulfi - delicious.

Doesn't feel authentic indian. Too much source added so everything is pretty sweet like Thai food. Same base had been used for both lamb and fish curries making them same taste.The amount of meat wasn't that satisfactory as well.
