If I could give this place more stars, I would. Could not fault it, service was friendly and food brought out quickly, burgers were fab (think Burger Burger in Auckland or similar standard). I was surprised it wasn’t packed to the rafters on the night we went but obviously this is still a bit of a well-kept secret (or Takaka residents were just waiting til later for the munchies to set in). Would defs recommend, and wear your stretchy pants.

Fantastic burgers. The food was excellent, the service was really friendly. Not super fast but really well made. The food truck was right on the Main Street in Takaka just a few doors down from that outlaw motorcycle bar the roots. They close kinda early at 8pm so make sure you get there early!

We got to the stray burger cafe the waiter show us our table (which we booked earlier) also told us about the burgers and which one was popular we ordered our burgers mine was deluxe I add a egg ( I wanted a egg w it it was no problem) friends ordered their's we sat down and enjoying our beer's and soft drinkz the waiter was very friendly making sure if thing was ok. Well when you travel to Takaka Golden Bay a must visit to this place. Which is located behind the Telegraph Hotel. Price range $14 - $20Just remember it dosen't comes with fries You can order Skin on fries and share them w friends. There's other meals steaks. Ribs. Beef bowl. Salad.l Salamon and also entrees Thay been going about 9 weeks.
