I called Tauranga City Council recently to fix a stormwater leak coming from under our shared driveway. The Customer Service team were friendly and very helpful and they passed my issue on to the relevant people quickly.A team came out the next day and assessed the issue, and then a couple of workers returned to start working on it that same afternoon. I popped out to say hi and they were also really friendly and informative. The team worked quickly and stopped the leak! They had to go underneath our driveway, and they did it with minimal disruption, even coming back again to make sure that their job was completed properly. They also sent a concrete mixer to fix the driveway.I know that Tauranga City Council gets negative comments on social media from a small group of unhappy people, and they're working hard to catch up after a period of quick population growth. They're genuinely working hard to make this city better, and even the smallest thing like fixing a leaking pipe makes a huge difference to people. Thanks for your help Tauranga City Council, from one very grateful ratepayer!

I applied for an off license online. The system crashed. So I contacted TCC for a paper version which they emailed me. When I got the paper version in on Monday my license had expired. So they said I needed to do a new off license application. I argued and that I had applied but it crashed. They basically called me a liar.I then gave up and tried a new application this time i recorded it on my phone.....guess what it crashed and I have proof. I called Sam Kemp (whop has treated me so poorly during this) and he came to my restaurant where he made me do it again. He refused to watch my video proof. This time it went through. I asked for an apology and he refused said thank you and left. Worst thing is TCC can never take any responsibility. Do they know we pay their wages and they actually work for the city which is us. Sam Kemp your inability to apologise even after you told me if i could prove it" you would astounds me. You have terrible customer service and I believe after many dealing with this council I understand why a commissioner was appointed to sort out what is a complete mess. Sam should not have a job at TCC! Terrible

I have received an overdue fine on my rates. I have proof that I have paid them fully and on time. I called them up to dispute it, I am caller number 494! what a joke. I have lived in many places around NZ, this is by far the most poorly run city. A council run by people with deep pockets and no common sense is not the council this city needs.

Complete and utter waste of Rate Payers money. Lets also not forgot the $1.2 Million they made in 2 weeks fining residents for using their street on Links Ave...They also mandated the vaccine pass be used at the library when the Western Bay council didnt....

Is this a tradition to raise Rates almost every year or is there any better reason behind it. Why paying to Tauranga Council and BOP Council, two different rates. Getting into property ladder itself is challenging in general, and this rates stabs further. Reduce your expenses, reduce unnecessary staffs

Horrible customer service, very rude people that don't listen. Treats clients badly, being a city council I expected better treatment.

What an absolutely terrible design for a town .come here as a tourist shopping no carparks unless you park 2kms from the shops and walk. I've given up after 2 days looking for a carpark . Obviously people in parking aren't connecting the dots I'd never want to visit here again

Re: Ilconcieved Council policy means a refusal to accept paymentHaving recently received a reminder to pay a parking fine I went to pay it at the councils office on Willow St as I normally would, but found a security station had been set up to deny entry to people with my Medical Condition. After speaking with the guard & 2 supervisors I was refused entry to make payment of the afore mentioned penalty, it seems to me that a refusal to accept payment nullifies the penalty for all people with my Medical Condition . Thankyou Tauranga City Council for your short sighted discrimination
