We took this ferry a total of four times and every time we did had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and professional. Even with silly confused tourists everyone was very helpful and made each of our trips on the ferry pleasant.

Dissapointed. It's meant to be a service you rely on for commuting... Need to use it on a Saturday? One every 2/3 hoursRely on it to return home? Forget, they will cancel it cause it broke down"AT

Fullers ferries - Taste of Two Islands - Rotoroa Island and Waiheke IslandWe booked and went on this experience on Saturday 4 March. We booked this tour for our wedding anniversary. It was a real let down.I guess this is a new tour you're running? The ticket had two blank pages at the end of the pdf so I enquired about this, but didnt receive a response. So thought oh well just see what happens on the day.The ticket says pier 13 which we waited at along with other passengers. It was not until the time to departure got closer that we thought that it's strange no one from Fullers is here. We walked down to the information board, that said pier 13. It wasnt until we asked and the staff member said oh no its leaving from pier 4. So we rushed to pier 4.No details about the tour we were on what the day would entail from the crew when we boarded.Rotoroa Island we arrived at and walked around. No briefing about which tracks to take, the signage around the island is inadequate. Maybe you need to say if you do this tour - you must do the guided option with it.We got back to the ferry to depart for the Waiheke experience at 12.45 Passage Rock winery seemed to have no clue we were even coming as a group of 11. So they split us and said that they would stick us in the tent". One of our group had dietary requirements which they informed two staff about and they said they would get on to. There was zero introduction about Passage Rock winery from the staff. We were asked which wine we wanted to try out of sauvignon or pinot gris

DON’T BOOK THE VINEYARD EXPLORER!! One out of three winery’s was supposedly closed, resulting in everything being cancelled without giving any notice until we were on Waiheke. We had lovely staff at the ferry terminal who were very helpful. Gabby at the Waiheke terminal, let us use the land line to speak to customer service. Unfortunately they were not as pleasant. I spent far too long on the phone trying to understand why the whole thing was cancelled as the place that fullers said was supposedly closed told me only 5 minutes before this call that our 11am tasting was still confirmed as the venue was only closed from 2pm. We wouldn’t have made our 11am tasting anyway after spending 40 minutes on the phone and then being told the bus is now too full & it’s a 30 minute wait for the next bus.It was a really frustrating experience which could have been easily resolved by clear communication in any form that you had cancelled or in their words “returned” the whole ticket (including the ferry pass). They also did not refund the returned ticket and said we could book another day or request a refund. Being already on Waiheke we opted for the partial refund for the tastings. All in all a pretty disappointing experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience visiting Waiheke island and specially the Stoneyridge winery - the scenery, food and especially the wine was amazing. The hop on/hop off bus was so convenient and the ferry ride from Auckland was super comfortable and on time.

We have taken Fuller’s Ferries on multiple occasions to see sights around the Auckland area and have never been disappointed. They are well organized, and always on time.In the busy tourist times, or on weekends, it is always best to buy your tickets 30 to 45 minutes in advance of your ferry time, and get in line. If you wait too long, the lines can get long and you may have to wait 30 minutes or an hour to get the next ferry if the ferry fills up.Their prices are fairly reasonable. Check their website for different fees and ferry times. We always ride on top when the weather is nice to enjoy the views! There is plenty of inside or covered seating, if it’s cold or rainy, or if you just don’t want to be outside in the wind. They have a small bar in board for beer, wine, and snacks, and plenty of restrooms.Masks are mandatory right now, also, so be prepared!

Welcome to NZ's most unreliable ferry service. As a Waiheke commuter, the numerous timetable cancellations have made commuting incredibly difficult, trying to get to work on time or make city appointments ... it's Russian Roulette. If you are visiting Waiheke Island on a summer weekend be prepared for long queues & waiting times plus it's a bonus if ferry service turns up.

Worst Ferry Operators Ever. Cancel Ferries on a Whim....wet day...not enough people....these guys are a monopoly and they rip people off with extortionate Ferry prices. Society is wrong to let just one operator service the public.

Fullers cancels ferries several times a day and whenever they feel like it. We watched them call the 4pm boat for boarding, then watched the boat sail away and cancel it under the pretence of “mechanical issues” a few minutes later. Use Sealink if you can.
