TANWA Thai Takeaway

Friendly and helpful staff but the food is disappointing. If this genuinely is the best Thai in Auckland or New Zealand, then the standard isn't great sadly. I wanted to love it after reading such great reviews and staff being so lovely but the meat was tough and the flavour was just not there. Hopefully it improves!

TANWA Thai is an amazing local treasure that I cannot reccomend highly enough!I had it last night and I still can't get over how yummy it was, so glad I have leftovers for lunch.We have the duck curry which was delicious and creamy, the pad thai which was up there with the best I have had, and the prawn salad which was delicious, spicy and unlike anything I have had in New Zealand. All of the portion sizes were extremely generous, and packed to the very brim.This restaurant is a family run place that is such a gem in the local community of point chev. Their specialty is northern thai and those flavours really come out in such dishes as the prawn salad. I used to live in Thai town in LA and this restaurant reminded me of the specialty northern thai places that make food for the locals.Go and support this awesome local restaurant. I promise you won't be disapointed!!PS This is northern thai done right so if you ask for it hot, you get it hot! It is so yummy and delicious!

Very nice food and simple, good service, very good location easy to access. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Best takeaway Thai food for miles around. Not afraid of chilli. Reasonable prices. Best to grab a menu beforehand and phone in your order. Wait times up to half an hour on busy nights.

10/10 for friendly services. 10/10 for packaging but that's about it. Crispy pork stir fry 0/10 like rubber cardboard, rocks, old and rough. Chicken Skewers 01/10 score for sauce, chicken burnt, old and tough, Pad Thai 3/10 noodles fresh everything else soggy and bland, Chicken skewers 3/10, 1 for cashew, 1 point for crispy veggies, 1 point for packaging. Disappointing, not going back please save your monies. Run for the hills.

Top notch Thai food at very reasonable prices. Everything we had was excellent but do have to specifically mention the Roti, it's superb; light and flaky.

I’m fussy about Thai food. It needs to be good and authentic which is hard to find in NZ. I think Tanwas food isn’t the best I’ve had in the world, buts it is definitely some of the best you’ll get in NZ!Love the addition of lime leaves to the drunken noodles which is unconventional but really lifts the flavour! I will definitely be back!
