Briar's Books, Lower Hutt

From our first meeting, I have been in the hands of a remarkably skilful and creative editor, patient and painstaking. Well over three hundred pages and hundreds of footnotes, not to mention a comprehensive index, were all handled with care and grace, providing both a printed and an e-book on Kindle. On top of this, Briar has produced a superb cover, far superior to the one we originally suggested. Her advice throughout, from the editing of the book to the choice of printer, has been wise and professional. I am in awe of the creativity and diversity of Briar's talents, combined with her willingness to take on the enormous challenge a work of this size and complexity presented.

Briar recently did the layout and photos for my autobiography, and I could not be more delighted with the job she has done. The cover of the book looks just spectacular and the way she has positioned the photos in my book is absolutely perfect. For personal reasons, I was very particular regarding the placement of certain photos and Briar was perfectly happy to meet my requests regarding this. I am simply delighted with how my book is looking and would happily recommend Briar to anyone.

Our business studies group worked with Briar to create our very first colouring in book. It was a learning experience that was enjoyable and rewarding and through Briar, something that was made achievable. She went out of her way to deliver exceptional service and high quality colouring in designs, being flexible and ready to listen wherever needed. Briar ensured that each creative decision that was made was carefully thought-out, and resulted in the best outcome for us as a team. As this was a very new and somewhat daunting challenge, we of course had our concerns, however, Briar made us feel extremely comfortable each step of the way and overall displayed her ever so kind nature. With Briar's help I have just self-published my first novel for young adults. She is a thorough professional and offers top class assistance with lay-out, illustrations, cover and editing. She is very easy to relate to. She was very patient as I had a few weeks when I was ill and I also lost my reading glasses making it difficult for her to consult with me on the text and illustrations. My experience of Briar editing my book has been a wonderful journey from a very rough draft to a printed book. Briar made it so easy not only through the editing process but also with all of the printing and design details handled at her end. I submitted a large and complicated academic book to Briar, crammed with figures, some footnotes, including an index. Briar took this over after the original publisher went out of business, and made a much better job of handling it than they did, particularly on the diagrams. Converting such a book to Kindle form is proverbially difficult, but she managed very well, and created e-book versions and pdf forms. The results were included on my website, and has been downloaded quite a lot. I would rate this service at 5 stars at least! Dr Neil Whitehead
