Keeping this one star until they resolve.Just spent 17k on a 2018 car. The passenger side sun visor fell out. Gear light wasn't working. A/C doesn't work. And it's incredibly rusty underneath the panels.I'll be interested in what VTNZ will say.Beware!

Wouldn't recommend, I feel quite ripped off and I feel they took advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars. Had googled the problem about my car, let them know that we thought it was the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS), they were also told we thought the spark plugs needed replacing, they did a scan which they said nothing showed up on their scan, they also didn't check the spark plugs, instead they wasted my time and money checking the coils to find out it was the spark plugs. My issue with the car still wasn't resolved or fixed and I was charged for a scan they didn't even perform properly (or even at all) plus I was charged for their mistake of not checking the spark plugs first when being told to check them first. They charged me over $400 for something that should of only cost $200. After calling them to explain the car wasn't fixed they were very quick to flick me onto another mechanic wanting to take no responsibility.I wouldn't recommend Kapiti Cars personally as I feel they are only after a quick cash profit over having a regular clientele.

Explained problem I had and what I thought was the issue. They said there scan should tell me what was wrong. After booked in they said Scan said nothing and became irrelevant and they were left to guess that the problem was something else. After checking it turned out the problem they guessed wasnt the actual problem but cost cost me more $$ due to time they spent finding out there guess work was wrong. Originally quoted 300 max cost to fix guessed problem and ended up costing close to 500 for a job that should've been close to 200 to fix the actual problem, and even then problem wasnt entirely fixed.I have since gone to another yard as original problems were persisting, and 10min later, after a scan (which Kapiti Cars said they did), this other place determined the problem to be what I personally initially thought it was due to Google search (which I told kapiti cars what I thought). How is it that I knew more about the car and its actual problem via Google search than the qualified experts" at kapiti cars who persisted to charge me for their extra unreuired labour

After purchase, Sharon advised me that the advert on trademe that advised the vehicle came with 6 month warranty incorrect. I wish i saw this as a sign as ive had nothing but trouble with the vehicle since purchase in February. Would NOT recommend! $9,000 loss.

I bought my first car here some years ago. Very pleased with the service and the car. Turned out to be very reliable.

Helpful and friendly, staff member, Thomas, listened to needs and wants and make really good selections for us to look at. Much appreciated .
