There is a very good reason that I have been going to see Ally and Leith for the past eighteen years or so and it is that they are very good at what they do. My foot shape and size makes it difficult to fit any touring boot and especially for a fit that is appropriate for backcountry big days (i.e. not a race fit!). Yep, some things may be 'cheaper' elsewhere but being back in the mountains is not the place for poorly fitting gear.Five stars? Absolutely.

I bought Lange ski boots from Gnomes 2 years ago and They fitted on my feet nicely but I use my boots about 6-7 hours a day for 5-6 days a week so I get sore spots every now and then. Every time when I get sore spots they did work on my boots to fit well again.So well looked after and you can trust their boots fitting skills.

I’ve been coming to Gnomes for a good few years now for boot and ski requirements, and wanted to share my reccomendation from the perspective of a level three instructor from Mt Hutt.Ally is incredibly experienced and knowledgeable, and takes a clear and logical approach to fitting boots. The process is always a conversation about what can be done to solve the problem, and the steps Ally takes to fit boots inspire confidence and trust.As someone who spends almost all day every day in boots, I’ve had my fair share of boot fitting needed. Working with Ally has allowed me to get my feet into the right boots which let me ski and perform as I need! I highly recommend visiting Gnomes.

I have difficult feet to fit into ski and snowboard boots, ive had very little success at alot of other ski shops, the crew at gnomes is very friendly and knowledgeable, and experts at boot fitment. They have fit me with ski and snowboard boots that i can wear all day long in perfect comfort, they have also fitted and supplied gear for my 2 young daughters which has been great. You will not find a better ski shop in new zealand.
