Dinner with my dad. Great vegetarian main and more than one option and they change the menu every month. Fab. Absolutely gorgeous desserts. My dad's veggies with his steak were overcooked but didn't stop him eating them.Also loved the local TV ads and local wine selection. Nice log fire. Fine portrait of Edward VII but rest of decor a bit repro plastic

We had dinner here last night during the mid year Christmas celebrations. Sat outside on the deck so were part of the midwinter atmosphere. Staff were extremely busy and very friendly and helpful. We were there early so had to wait until 5 pm to order from the dinner menu - chose fettuccini. Unfortunately the dish did not live up to standard. The fettuccini was very 'gluggy', all stuck together. The taste was nice but I was unable to eat it all. I would try this restaurant again though.

We were passing by greytown and was thinking what to have for lunch. We went here and the food did not disappoint and the service was great! Definitely would come again.

Best service we have had in a long time. We brought our six month old baby in, the staff were fantastic making sure our child was comfortable and getting attention. Our food was brought out very quickly to accommodate us. Very good food, would encourage you to try this place!

The White Swan Country Hotel
So we decide to pop into The White Swan in Greytown. Always driven passed but this time we thought, why not. Well we should have kept driving. We weren’t dressed in our flash clothing but that doesn’t mean we can’t pay. We got meet straight away at the door. We decided to sit outside. Order a beer and a coffee, then we were asked for our credit card/eftpos as this is standard practice for this restaurant when sitting outside due to so many ripping them off. This we totally understand. What we have a problem with is that we had two groups of people beside us that never got asked for their cards. While finishing up our drinks and a few chicken bites still no sign of them being asked. This started to eat at me a bit so when I went to pay I asked the gentleman behind the bar the question, when a lady pipped up and said ‘ we don’t discriminate’ I never said that but you can understand the perception. She proceeded to tell me that she will tell her girls off, and that one group happened to be regulars. Besides the point, you made us feel unwelcome, like we weren’t the fit for your establishment. You dismissed our feelings and even though we never mentioned discrimination you were quick to deny such. The service was nothing compared to the friendly service the other tables received. We should all remember, DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.

Excellent place for fantastic food and service. Both of us totally enjoyed our meals and talked about how high end the food was. My lamb rack was beautiful and the venison was loved by my partner. Highly recommend and will be back next time we are over this way again!

Terrible experience. Couldn't book our party of 7 into the 'casual' bar restaurant on a Wednesday night, so booked into the Captain's Table, was told it was more 'fine dining'. We waited 2 hours for our meals. They were delicious, but incredibly tiny portions (3 of us had the fish, and I swear they cut the fillet in 3). We ate after 9pm. The kitchen ran out of avocado and pork belly, and there were only 5 options! The service was rubbish, no one knew what was going on. There seemed to be be only 2 chefs - and they were cooking for the casual bar as well. The wait staff did their best (i think), but seemed to accept this experience as 'normal'. If you can't deliver, please don't offer! Very disappointed as was looking forward to what promised to be a great evening in one of Greytown's finest.

Do we ever love this place and this town. It's a long way from home but we always try to include it when do a road trip. My wife keeps saying she could retire here. It's beautiful.

Had a lovely meal and gin experience sitting out on the deck. Jamie, the manager, was so helpful, nothing was a problem, busy night, low staff numbers but couldn’t fault the meal or the gin platter or Jamie’s service.Thank you for a really lovely evening.

We stayed to celebrate our wedding anniversary was just perfect.Room was very clean spacious with lovely big windows for the breeze. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Definitely stay again. Thank you. Caroline
