Turmeric Indian Restaurant
Have signed here on several occasions now, lunch and dinner. Every time we try something new and every time we love the dishes.Highly recommend the paneer saag or lamb madras if you want to venture beyond the standard butter chicken (which is also creamy, sweet and delightful).Naan is light and tasty, staff are polite and helpful, and it's a great spot to people watch if you catch the window seats.

This is a wonderful restaurant in a lovely pedestrian area of the city centre. It was super busy which we thought was a good sign! Our family of 4 adults and a child had such a good experience. The food was fantastic; a great range of curries, all cooked to perfection and the naan breads were amazing! Very reasonable price for food and beers. Highly recommended!!

Great foo..family from Wellington could not believe that this restaurant made the best Indian food in New Zealand..they're travelled all around New Zealand for there business..so they be definitely be coming back to Whangarei and going to this place for fantastic Indian food

Turmeric Indian Restaurant
In Whangarei tucked away in the food street is this little hidden jewel of an Indian restaurant and we six people had a wonderful meal after our visit to the Kiwi House. Has many varieties of Indian food and we had asked for 4 dishes and it was served with hot Tandoori roti and Nan. Highly recommend it a lot better food then most other Indian restaurants

EDIT: I have amended this review, as a full refund was given in the end (which is more generous than I expected, so thank you). At the time, no such thing was communicated to me - so it appeared I would be charged in full with no other recourse. No word was given that anything else would happen.However, an hour after the restaurant closed, Menulog notified that the order (which had been marked as delivered and thus I had been told could not be cancelled by me) was now set to cancelled and I would be refunded.I am sorry that the restaurant staff had to deal with both a broken system and customer (my) irritation as I know it was not their fault. Communication could DEFINITELY have been better though.In the future, I think I will just order for pickup, or dine-in.I’ve kept my below review for context:I love Turmeric, their curries are usually my go-to after a terrible week when I need some stunning soul-food.Today I placed an order through Menulog for delivery.Two hours later, after two phone calls it had still not arrived. Manager suggested I cancel it on Menulog, however I could not do so as it was marked as ‘delivered’ in the app. In the end, I had to pay the delivery fee, inflated Menulog prices and actually go an pick my cold curry up myself anyway.No offer to reimburse delivery fee, or anything of that sort. Only being told it was my fault as I should not order through Menulog, but some other online delivery app instead. Great. I understand Menulog’s delivery failure was not their fault. But, they could have phoned me themselves, cancelled it on their end or at least have reimbursed delivery. Terrible service that left a bad taste in my mouth even their delicious food could not cure.

Simply amazing. The food was so good that we went there two days in a row for dinner. Lamb biryani and lamb korma were super tasty and great value for money.

If you found this helpful, please like:Amazing Food. Not a whole lot of seating, I would recommend booking. It is a nice area even though it is small, there is seating inside and outside. The Garlic and Cheese naan was something different and great but be warned it is quite a large amount of food so sharing one main with some sides might be the way to go.
