This is a nice Countdown in Ponsby that's a bit on the smaller side. It does have a large selection of wines if you're looking for something to go with dinner.The lighting is nice in the produce section but the prices are pretty spendy for fruit and veg.They do have an assortment of gluten free items, which I appreciate as a Coeliac.The drugstore branded makeup is incredibly pricey. As an American, I'd never wear makeup again if I had to pay these prices for what is considered the cheapest brand makeup in the US.We did paid street parking. If there was a lot somewhere, I didn't see it.Visited February 2023.

my elderly grandmother fell off her wheelchair during her shop - she tells me a 'tall red head boy' was very comforting and was immensely helpful in supporting her to get on with her day. many thanks

The only countdown I know that doesn’t do free fruit for kids which is the only way I can shop in peace. seems strange seeing as though we are in one of the richest areas in Auckland?

Love the mostly plastic free produce section! They have great tips and reusable produce bags as well. This is still a trial run so they ask for constructive feedback while they’re figuring this out. I think it’s a great start.I’ve also found this store to be very organised and clean every time we’ve been in the past.

So sick of your self-checkout stations being absolutely filthy & sticky.This store has been my local since it opened and since what’s-his-face from down the road became the manager, the level of service and general cleanliness has gone way downhill.Having to ask to have the glass services cleaned to get the scales to read the barcodes is not on. And it’s not like we have much of a choice when EVERY checkout is also filthyClean your self-checkouts more regularly Countdown Ponsonby. They’re gross!!

Small compared to some other store's but they have everything you'll need, the store is lovely and clean. The toilets seriously need attention, although very handy to have. Staff are friendly and helpful

Nice Countdown Supermarket at Ponsonby. They’ve got larger varieties and many more products there. At the entrance there were cleaning and sanitising products for the trolley thankfully. At other Countdowns too they do have the products but they’re either finished or there is no tissue available to wipe off the sanitizer (faced this issue at 2-3 other Countdowns). The floors and the other areas were clean. There were staff at the billing counters helping people out with putting their stuff in the bags to fasten the process.
