If you're looking for back to basic camping with hot showers and a toilet block. In a stunning location where you can camp anyway including right on the beach. Great hosts and very friendly campground vibe.

Wonderful getaway camping kept simple with the luxury of a hot shower at only $1 for 4 minutes. So nice to have the option of a fire. Small store on site if you've forgotten a necessity. Steep stoney beach. We'll be back.

As long as you are looking for super low-tech and amazing freedom, this is the place for you.No fancy stuff, although they do sell ice, milk and ice-cream.No cell coverage. No boundaries. No fuss. This is a beautiful and relaxed camping ground that offers not much more than peace and tranquillity, great safe swimming and lots of space. The best thing is that you can light a fire on the beach to cook your dinner over and then sit around telling stories till late.Awesome!

The beautiful night sky over White Island. The camp site is beautiful, we stayed an extra night because it was so peaceful and picturesque.

I spent one night at this campground around early April this year, and it is a hidden gem I have recommended to many. The coastline running from Opotiki is little known but beautiful and wild, and the creek itself is really quiet and pretty. I only spent one night there but the lady who ran the place received me so kindly and warmly (Vivianne?). She made sure I felt safe camping on my own on the beach, and even checked on me when it started pouring down rain later that evening. Amazing hospitality, even by kiwi standards! Thank you. <3

Wonderful campground, simple amenities - showers and toilets and small goods at reception. Bring your own cooking equipment as there is no kitchen. Wonderful walks, kayaking, swimming, boating, fires allowed on the beach, wonderful camp managers who are very helpful and friendly. A macadamia nut farm and cafe about 25 mins walk away with Wifi. No service or WiFi at the camp, which is perfect!!
