Eliza's Manor

My husband and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon and it was such a wonderful experience! Why? The little things. The luxurious towels, the well stocked minibar(complimentary), the pillow menu(!) and the decor. The staff were fabulous and went above and beyond to make our stay a special experience. Even packing breakfast for us and having it delivered to our room as we were leaving too early to enjoy the breakfast at the restaurant. Thank you so much guys, it was an unforgettable experience!

The house is authentic in style and very well looked after. The food was amazing and the staff were exceptional.Loved our room and all the little touches. Can’t fault this place. Only complaint would be the noise of the main road outside but it’s location was close to town enough to walk. So if the original 1800‘s owners would have had the foresight to not build on a major road I can’t fault this place. Just lovely and will be back.

We spent the last day of our holiday at Eliza's Manor. We had mixed feelings before we went and didn't know what to expect. But how wrong we were. What a wonderful historical place. Before we left in the morning we had one of best breakfasts we've ever had. The central staircase of the building is beautiful, dates back to 1891 and is made from Kauri wood. The room was excellent.

Very nice place! The service was excellent! The room was clean, bed comfortable. We had a very nice time. Decoration is “old”, but well maintained and it’s what keeps the character of the place. The restaurant is good as well! Lamb was awesome! You should definitely stay there if you pass by Christchurch.

We attended the Eliza’s Manor dinner at Butcher & Bees with dishes paired with Scapegrace cocktails. The effort that had gone into the food and cocktail matching really shone through. We received a great description of the gin and cocktail by Mikey from Scapegrace and then a overview of the food from Adam, Eliza’s Exec Chef - both were just fantastic. Loved that Adam had used butterfish two ways with one fillet per fish served as a crudo and the other roasted on the bone with blood orange, thyme, fennel and caper butter sauce. The main protein was a cannon of lamb accompanied by the same flavours as the delicious Forager’s Gibson Martini. Fab night! One of the best food and alcohol matches we’ve had in Chch. The vegetarian dishes also sounded delicious - made me want to order that for one of us and swap…maybe next time. More like this please.

Was lovely. Traditional wood paneling interior with heavy old velvet drapes in downstairs. I don't think the interior has changed and has been looked after well.It definitely has that old warm fireplace feel (I can't remember if there was one though).

We did had lunch here! I'll say that the food was good and the cocktails too However you would expect that to be the case considering the final bill! However considering the tone of the place and having been in other very nice restaurants I don't think that the quality for money is in the top ten in Christchurch. Good but not fantastic!

Awesome little getaway from home here in Christchurch. I stayed for one night and had the whole package! Breakfast was included and I went for dinner as well, it was luxurious! We had bubbles in the room, fantastic service, and they were super helpful with things happening around town. It was close enough to CBD to walk, but far enough away to be away from all the noise at the terrace.Highly recommend!!!

If you are looking for the best place to stay whilst visiting Christchurch then look no further! Eliza’s manor is an absolute delight. I felt like I was staying in a bohemian dollhouse. A big thank you to the wonderful staff, you are all beautiful and so helpful.
