The very first thing I would say is, just don't think twice to choose this place as your birthing unit or the place after ur middlemore stay or postnatal care, to be more confident on lactation, handling baby and taking care of yourself all together. This place has got beautiful and supportive midwives who treat you as their own familyYou get an independent room of your own so that you have ur own good private time with ur bub and for yourself to recoverCarleen Paterson(one of the beautiful soul), Shelly, Jamie, Judy, Balvinder Kaur, all these midwives over there are really helpful and understanding and they take very good care...mothers coming in to this birthing unit are blessed with this beautiful souls who are always there to help and take care of your special needs, your baby.If any of the mothers or pregnant women want to prefer or looking for a place where you feel safe and confident, this birthing unit would be the one.The food here is cooked based on your ethnicity and your requirements fulfilling your taste buds as well nutrients for you and your baby.Overall there is nothing to think twice to choose this place for delivering ur baby or being here for few days after delivery.

My wife and newborn spent 4 nights here. The midwife's here are super awesome and I couldn't fault them. It was great having the one on one time where they show you and teach you all the important stuff it takes to bring up a newborn. However I was no impressed with one of the cleaners who just walks into the room without knocking or anything and didn't bother closing the door behind them.

Fantastic staff who really helped my wife feel confident after she left. They care about the mother and baby equally and will do everything the can to make you feel relaxed. The facilities are aged and could do with an upgrade, but the service is still top notch.

Welcomed with smiles and warm greetings transferred from hectic Middlemore hospital, it was a relief to be in a quiet area with your own room. Old fashioned with nothing to complain about really. It's my first time here and the staff are approachable and supportive. Even got to use a breast pump because my daughter had trouble latching. Would definitely recommend this place for postnatal care.

22yrs ago March 1998 I gave birth to my big girl here. Hospitality and care was awesome. Breakfast was all set up in the dining room where you could help yourself, down the corridor on the right was where the fathers could help themselves to a hot drink and snacks and made all visitors feel welcomed. This place was the best ever to give birth where we were looked after with the best care possible. WAAY better service than Tauranga Hospital. I loved it here xx.

I was lucky enough to be referred to the lovely Lactation Consultant who runs a clinic here on Wednesdays. She went over and above to assess the situation and come up with a plan on how to help my baby and I going forward. She was highly knowledgeable and supportive and created a really comfortable non judgmental experience! She was also very reassuring that if any further issues were to arise I would be able to get in touch for further support.I would highly recommend getting in touch if you need any breastfeeding support or advice!Thank you so much!

My wife and our first baby moved from Middlemore to Papakura birthing as baby lost her 9% weight with Jaundice and not latching enough. We were amazed by the service we received, simply boosted our confidence and retured home within just two days. We can't thank enough for all their lovely behaviour, service and motivation. God bless you all.

Was in here 3 nights after the birth of my daughter. The staff are fantastic especially Kelly who was there with me all night! Food is good too. Rooms are old and classic - Don't expect 5 star modern facilities but they are nice and clean. Rooms are solid and a good size too. Very flexible as long as your not disrupting others.

Best place to birth!! My mum had my 2 brothers here (in the 90s) and I had all three of my boys here. The staff here are so lovely. Always take very good care of you and their meals are decent. I've never felt disrespected, over looked or rushed, which is why I will always recommend Papakura Maternity Unit to any woman.
