Auckland & Beyond Tours

The Hobbiton & Waitmo cave tours were phenomenal! Our driver Peter did an excellent job ensuring we had enough time at each site and provided a wealth of commentary and insight along our journey. Highly recommend!

The day before yesterday, we didn't receive any tour guide information, so I sent an email first. Finally, the tour agent Peter informed us that our tour was canceled due to insufficient numbers of participants and offered a refund or the option to pay an additional $100 to join another tour. We were very disappointed, but since it was the tour we were most looking forward to in Auckland, we decided to pay the extra money. The next day, our alarm clock malfunctioned, and we woke up in a panic at 6:15 am, the time when the bus was supposed to depart. We realized it was our mistake and apologized to the tour guide. However, when I called Peter afterwards to explain our situation, he was extremely rude and unhelpful, showing no intention of assisting us in any way. It was our fault, but we also paid a significant amount of money. His service infuriated us. It was frustrating to be in a situation where we paid for a tour in a foreign country and didn't receive proper assistance, especially because our English skills are not very strong. Feeling anxious, we tried calling several times to resolve the issue, but we were blocked, so we had to use a different phone to make the call. They provided the tour address but didn't send any email, so we had to take an Uber taxi by ourselves. The high rating is because of the friendly and comforting guides who treated us well and made us feel at ease. We hope they are not affected by the negative experience. Peter should remember that most of the tour participants are foreigners who come from different countries and it would be better not to confuse and treat them unkindly. Although we don't know their names, we are extremely grateful to the guide who greeted us first at the Hobbit ticket office and to Raymond, the guide who accompanied us on the Maori tribe tour. Thanks to them, we were able to have a wonderful first tour in Auckland and we felt happy.

Raymond gave us an amazing tour of Hobbiton and the Glow Worm Cave. He also picked us up from our hotel and drove us great distances.

Pickup was on time at 7:30am. We were provided a wonderful historical account of New Zealand and Auckland on our way to Hobbiton. Our guide Raymond was delightful and patient which provided for an enjoyable day.

It was absolutely an amazing tour to Hobbiton!! The weather was perfect and our tour guide & driver Paul is so nice. He is super professional and informative.Even we were so sleepy on the way to Hobbiton, he still talked a lot of interesting historical stories and made our journey a lot of fun! I really wanna go to toilet on the way back. He was so helpful and stopped at the gas station and waited for me! Thank you so much for the great experience!

I loved my experience with the Hobbiton tour!I had an excellent guide/driver today named Gary. He was so kind and intentional and even let a girl use his jacket during our tour!Our group was cracking jokes and talking story to and from Hobbiton.This tour was the best and I would 20/10 doing this tour again!

Incredible service, and great tour overall! We went to Hobbiton and visited the glowworm caves. Our guide was Raymond, and he was incredible! He told us much history of New Zealand/Auckland and more of their culture. Thanks to him and “Auckland & Beyond Tours” for such an incredible day!

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. We did this tour the morning after our 36/hr travels and were so exhausted we slept through our alarm. Paul was so kind and, not only waited for us, but gave us some time to get dressed. Paul was exceptional. Great driver, knowledgeable, and gave lots of interesting historical facts as we went along. He also had water and snacks for us.The tour itself was everything I hoped it would be. I will likely be back!
