Five Stags Leamington Tavern
We went on a no kid date night and were worried about what we would get given some bad recent reviews. However, we couldn’t fault Five Stags. I review and rate against my expectations and they totally met them. Great food, service and atmosphere. It’s a suburban pub so don’t expect craft beer packed to the ceiling or a’la carte meals but for what the typical Kiwi wants this fits the bill perfectly.

My partner, our 11 month old and I enjoyed lunch here. Impressed with every aspect, even the highchair was spotless. Great, easy going feeling, staff who did their job and let us enjoy our meal, which we both agree was fantastic. Looking forward to our next date here, and our daughter loved it too.

Definitely not what it used to be. Had a table booked, wasn't shown to our table, just told and pointed in the direction of it. Food was slow to arrive. Was an hour before mains arrived and were mediocre. The ribs were chewy and chicken was dry. Wasn't meal checked until out table had almost finished our mains. Plates were cleared with out checking if we were finished. Used to be a great place for dinner, not so much any more.

This pub has seriously gone the wrong way! Have been a few times this year and enjoyed selection of food and prices ok. Came today and not a single vegetarian item on the menu (bar fries) and the only thing that can be made vege is a salad!! Prices have also got ridiculously high...$22 for wedges!!!! Very disappointing indeed.

Absolutely beautiful staff at Five Stags. We booked in to eat for a birthday celebration with 25+ people and pre ordered all our food to be ready on arrival. The staff went above and beyond to have all our requirements met with awesome attitudes and no fuss at all.

Just average. Good service, venue has a great atmosphere but the food, much anticipation, was just mediocre and flavorless. Menu looked so good but just didn't deliver

Prices gone way up and portions way down. A sign of the times perhaps. Food not as good, and the menu and kids menus have shrunken to a fraction of the items that were once there.High turnover of staff means they are still learning, and the tavern itself is severely understaffed leading to long wait times to get served and even paying. Our waitress was bar tender for the main bar, server for the restaurant, cashier, and it wouldn't surprise me if she was the dish washer and cleaner.Even though the staff were being overworked they were still nice, unlike Good Union.The Five Stags is just down the road from us and we've been going there for years. Sadly, we won't be back.
