Rover Rings Tours

Me and my partner done the full day tour in March this year this was her first visit to NZ and we only had minimal time in Wellington so I thought this would be a good way for her too see some of the scenary.We had a great tour guide Jackson he was the man very informative and wasn't boring that helps when you have to listen to somone speak most of the day lol great work mate.We thoroughly enjoyed the WETA studios it was amazing to see how many movies they actually help out with and also all the work that went into making the costumes and props for LOTR.This tour was very well organized and the lunch was good too if you do the full day tour make sure you get an early night sleep the night before you will need the energy as it's jam packed day and what I thought was well worth the price,keep up the good work guys.

We had a great 1/2 day tour with Rover last year. The driver was very helpful and entertaining. We visited the sites over looking Wellington ending up at Weta Workshop for an awesome visit to the shop and a tour. We asked to be dropped off at at the Roxy cafe and picture when the tour finished which the driver did, but he also showed us around it before he left. Highly recommend tour.

Ended up being chauffeur driven by Wayne as only two on tour. Great to see locations from LotR and Weta studio tour was fascinating.

So stoked! Did the combo tour at Weta in the morning and the 1/2 day locations tour in the afternoon. Great day to get your lotr fix and the location guide was well worth it, really brought the sites to life :)

not impressed with the male driver of this small bus. outside the maritime museum trying to quickly buckle my 6 yr old in and he comes up smack behind and starts tooting. I was all of 30 seconds

Loved the 2 hour hop on, hop off tour of Wellington. Our driver, Alf, was so knowledgeable and passionate about Wellington's places, people and history. It has made me want to do these types of tours in every city I visit from now on, including my local city of Christchurch.

My partner and I did the full tour today, and it was FANTASTIC! Laura was our guide, and she was so knowledgable and really made the tour amazing. We were fortunate enough to have a private tour, as no one else booked, which was really great for us! Would definitely recommend as some of the locations are difficult to spot on your own!

We did the full day LOTR tour.Chewy offered to take us from Miramar to the office for pick up on his way to work as we were staying out of the pick up zone in the city centre which was really nice of him (also took us home too)Our day tour guide was Grant and Tom was shadowing him - both guides were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The tour includes Mt Victoria, Weta Workshop, Hutt River, Harcourt Park and Rivendell.Grant had a lot of still shots we could replicate and you could see he enjoyed telling us all about the films! there was an accident on the motorway which would have delayed our tour but Grant knew the area and gave us a detour and also lots of information about the town we detoured too!The LOTR filming locations were beautiful and i enjoyed the Weta workshop tour. The only thing i will say is that there is so much epicness packed into this day tour that at times it is a rush so you may not get the option to take lots of photos in each place (we still managed to take what we needed but im a photo fiend so i would of liked to take more)I would highly recommend this tour it is worth every penny. Lunch was at Scorch-o-rama in Shelly bay and it was delicious! and gave us time to have a chat!

This is the third time I’ve done this tour (full day with Leslie, Lesley?) (first two times in 2012) and cannot recommend enoughIt was so fun and informative and well worth every cent spent. It had everything, views from high points of Wellington, Weta studio tour, good lunch, impromptu tour of Wellington and the making of every LOTR fan nerding outAlso special thanks to our tour guide who was very knowledgeable not only about LOTR, filming, Peter Jackson,Weta etc but she gave us so much info about Wellington, native flora and fauna, pointed out NZ birds, silver ferns and was also a very impressive driver! She went above and beyond, also gave us 10/10 recommendations for Wellington night life

We had a wonderful day. The guid was very knowledgeable about Wellington and the movies. We reenacted scenes from the Movie at different key spots and visited the Weta cave it was definitely our favorite part of our Wellington visit. I highly recommend this tour.
