Kawhia Harbour
Even if this place is at the end of the road it is a great place to visit you will find lots to enjoy and fuel is cheap.

Kawhia Harbour
Good old fashioned Kiwi holiday spot.Reasonably undeveloped. Has everything you need while still being a bit stripped back.Good access to different water based activities. Beach on the estury for safe swimming for kids. West Coast beach for surfing. Good fishing in the Harbour.Couple of good pubs, good fish and chips and a shop that sells most of what you need.

West Coast of te Iki Maui. Harbour is large and very tidal . It has a difficult bar to get over to the Tasman sea.Always changing with tide and winds. Many sand banks.Been fished for generations of Maori. Full of history and beauty.

A pity this town is not as easy to get to as Raglan, it has a lot of potential. However there is a lovely museum, great fish and chips and a good selection of ice-cream. There is a new adventure playground too.
